Madaster is the online registry for materials and products in the built environment
Over ons
In Madaster, data are recorded on all materials and products that are incorporated in a real estate or infrastructure object, such as buildings and bridges. Registering every component provides insight, for example, into the degree to which an object can be dismantled, embodied carbon, or the toxicity of the materials and products used. It also enables determining whether materials and products can be reused after disassemblage. Building in such a circular way means that we are drastically reducing the amount of waste and CO2 emissions and are taking better care of our planet.

With today's technology, the construction industry can go beyond compliance by transforming BIM (IFC) or Excel files into knowledge-rich resources that track water and energy use, predict future material value, and guide smarter, greener decisions. This process helps reduce waste, boost reuse potential, and create lasting sustainability. By refining designs and comparing assets, you can uncover opportunities to build more efficient and resilient structures. Clear, comprehensive reports also allow you to showcase the full story of your circular efforts. 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘂𝘀𝗲. To promote its circular construction, we measured the disassembly potential of materials for The Looppark Project, designed by RAU. By evaluating how easily components can be separated, we optimized designs for maximum reusability and sustainability. Higher disassembly scores not only minimize waste but also prolong the lifecycle of materials, paving the way for a true circular economy. This assessment aligns with LEED, BREEAM standards, and complies with EU Circular Economy regulations. ⇒ Swipe to see Looppark’s scores and how the materials stacked up. ⇒ Read the full case study here: https://lnkd.in/dARXvVcM #CircularEconomy #SustainableDesign #MaterialReuse
