Celebrating Spring at GHC Plantion! 🌱🌸 Yesterday, we had the pleasure of attending the Celebrate Spring (Vier de Lente) event at GHC Plantion. The event began with an insightful entrepreneurial conference in the auction hall, followed by an inspiring evening at the wholesale centre. From hands-on workshops by Tessa Blanken and Ilona Oostenveld to the opportunity to stock up on fresh flowers, all while connecting with industry peers over food and drinks—it was a wonderful experience. We had conversations with florists about our sustainability journey, the Marginpar Mix, whose proceeds support the Marginpar Foundation, and our expanded range at Veiling Plantion. With an estimated population of 50,000 people across these locations, our capacity-building initiative focuses on grassroots participation, leadership development, and self-sufficiency. ‘We grow people, our people grow great communities’ In Phase 1, we trained 264 participants from 53 villages, equipping them with the skills to analyse community challenges, lead initiatives, and drive positive change. Through participatory workshops, we’re shifting peoples’ mindsets to active drivers of their own growth —because real development starts from within. Now, in Phase 2 (running through 2025), we are preparing participants to take the next step: designing and implementing their own community-led initiatives, supported by the Foundation.
