The Brazilian government plans to build or renovate 130 regional airports across the country within the next five years, as announced by Silvio Costa Filho, Minister of Ports and Airports. Hermes Airports Ltd Airports has proposed a significant expansion project for Larnaca and Paphos Airports in Cyprus to increase capacity and upgrade facilities to modern standards. Larnaca International Airport, located on Cyprus’s southeast coast, will expand to increase its annual capacity from the current 8 million to 12 million passengers. The 65,000 m² expansion will include an east terminal extension for passport control and security, while the existing passport and security area will be repurposed for additional commercial space and public seating.
