🏆 NVIDIA's fine-tuned Nemotron 70B beats OpenAI’s GPT-4o! We have reached a noteworthy moment in AI history.. When open source models can not only compete with large commercial models, but outperform them! NVIDIA has launched the Llama-3.1-Nemotron-70B-Instruct model, built on META’s Llama3.1 70B. 👇 Access here: https://lnkd.in/gYXbUHMk This opens new possibilities for Private AI in Europe, where Privacy and Sovereignty, GDPR and other regulations limit use of commercial models. This fine-tuned language model is designed to improve the helpfulness of AI-generated responses, leveraging structured data to guide the model's outputs. Despite having just 70 billion parameters, Nemotron is outperforming leading models like OpenAI’s GPT-4o and Anthropic’s Claude 3.5 Sonnet. In the Arena Hard benchmark, Nemotron scores 85 points, while GPT-4o and Claude 3.5 score 79.3 and 79.2, respectively. It also holds top positions in AlpacaEval and MT-Bench with scores of 57.6 and 8.98, surpassing GPT and Claude. The model’s training utilized reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) with the REINFORCE algorithm, focusing on reward and preference prompts to steer its behavior. This model can run on about 80GB of memory, meaning it can run on a single NVIDIA H200 with 141GB of memory. Vorige week stonden we met NEBUL op de World Summit AI en kwamen we onze Delftse vrienden van Team Epoch tegen. Zij ontwikkelen een AI-model dat malaria vroegtijdig detecteert in microscopische bloedbeelden. Het model identificeert malaria-parasieten in verschillende stadia. Hun modellen worden getraind op onze infrastructuur bij NEBUL. Met onze HPC-clusters kunnen ze grotere datasets gebruiken en het trainingsproces versnellen. Team Epoch neemt deel aan een competitie waar het model beoordeeld wordt op performance en snelheid. Een goed voorbeeld van een waardevolle AI use case!
