Impact in Life Sciences: Insights from the 3rd VC Impact Day 🚀 On Wednesday, we co-hosted a transformative event alongside Dr. Stephanie Mooij from Gilde Healthcare and Silva Deželan, PhD from Forbion.   Together, with 25 impact investor representatives, we explored how impact-driven approaches are reshaping life sciences investment. What made this gathering special? Reflecting on a successful event on #impact investing! Last Thursday we hosted, in collaboration with FIN - Branchevereniging van fondsen en foundations (the Dutch Association of Foundations), an event on impact investing. NeurOdys Therapeutics Launches with Pre-Seed Funding to Combat Neurodegenerative Diseases Together with Rambam AG, we are proud to announce the launch and pre-seed funding of NeurOdys Therapeutics. NeurOdys is developing novel small molecule therapies aimed at modifying disease progression for #Alzheimer's, #Parkinson's, and other #neurodegenerative disorders. They will use advanced computer modeling and discovery technologies to quickly identify and develop potential treatments. Their efforts will be supported by Expert Systems Accelerator, which combines AI-driven technology with deep research expertise to speed up the drug discovery process. This #InternationalWomensDay, we celebrate the influential voices of five women at NLC Health Ventures. ✨ Their insights and leadership are vital, and we're proud to share a glimpse of their perspectives. We're making progress: in 2024, 40% of our newly added ventures are female-led, and nearly half of our portfolio companies have women on their executive boards. But progress isn't parity. Women-led health tech startups face more obstacles securing funding. Over the past two years, startups with male CEOs consistently receive higher valuations and larger funding rounds than those led by women. This trend holds across all stages, from seed to Series C, according to Carta’s latest Equity Report. True equality means closing these gaps.
