Team Northwave Finishes 2024 Stockholm Halvmarathon Starting yet another episode in Northwave's running tradition, Team Northwave finished the 2024 @Ramboll Stockholm Halvmarathon, on Saturday. Amids the beauty of the Swedish capital in late summer, our team, Sigrid Westman, representing 'the Netherlands' and Marc D., running for the Northwave Cyber Security branch in the Nordics, battled the heat and the hills and clocked excellent times on the 21.098K. Well done! And thank you for cheering on, Lotte van der Vaart, Kim Elman and the many Northwavers that supported our runners from their homes! We are confident that the 2025 edition will see our team participating again!

In een interview voor Cobouw getiteld "Hackers komen nog steeds via achterdeur binnen: bouw kwetsbaar door lange ketens", deelt onze algemeen directeur Pim Takkenberg zijn visie op de groeiende dreiging van cyberaanvallen in de bouwsector. Ondanks een daling van het aantal meldingen van cyberaanvallen – van 144 in 2022 naar 47 in 2023 – is er geen ruimte voor complacency. De race tussen bouwbedrijven en cybercriminelen op ICT-gebied blijft intens.   De introductie van nieuwe technologieën zoals drones en VR-brillen vergroot de risico’s, aangezien ze potentiële toegangspoorten vormen voor criminelen. Daarnaast benadrukt het interview dat zelfs intellectueel eigendom, zoals BIM-modellen, aantrekkelijk kan zijn voor spionnen en terroristen, vooral in het licht van de huidige geopolitieke spanningen.   “Met de huidige geopolitieke omstandigheden zijn statelijke actoren heel actief. Als je als bouwbedrijf een belangrijk overheidsgebouw oplevert, zoals een sluis, of bijvoorbeeld een bank of datacenter, dan moet je er rekening mee houden dat informatie over dat gebouw en vooral over de technische installaties erg interessant is voor bepaalde landen.”   Benieuwd naar de volledige inzichten? Fifth Annual Northwave Half Marathon: the hottest run of the year (so far)! Last Sunday, over seventy well trained runners gathered at our European HQ in Utrecht (NL) to participate in own yearly running event. In blistering temperatures everyone gave it their best. A great crowd of family members and colleagues took care of the cheering-on, and manned the waterstations, handing out liquids and iced sponges. Our very own DJ Thomas van Ruitenbeek took care of the vibe and James Catering VOF kept the cool drinks flowing and served out a nice dinner. Our brand new President and COO, Monique Dekker personally handed out the medals. A special thumbs up to the students of rowing clubs Theta, A.L.S.R.V. Asopos de Vliet, Euros, Minerva and Triton for participating, and as always, putting some of the fastest times on the boards! A great day in a growing running tradition. The next event? Team Northwave will partake in the Stockholm Half Marathon on the 7th of September!
