🔎 Real time inzicht én voorspellen van conditie radioactief afval NRG werkt aan het digitaal ‘klonen’ van vaten met laag- en midden radioactief afval. Via sensoren op het ‘echte’ vat, wordt de ‘digitale tweeling’ gevoed met actuele informatie. Hans Meeussen en Bas Janssen, NRG-consultants: “Daardoor heeft de beheerder van het afval altijd real time inzicht in de werkelijke conditie van de verpakking van het radioactief afval. 🤝 We zijn verheugd om aan te kondigen dat NRG PALLAS en TAG1 Inc. een meerjarige samenwerking zijn aangegaan om de levering van radium-224 veilig te stellen voor de productie van de isotoop lood-212 (Pb-212). Deze overeenkomst is gericht op het versterken van de toeleveringsketen voor innovatieve radio-farmaceutische kankerbehandelingen. Het betreft onder andere Targeted Alpha Therapies (TAT's), die veelbelovend zijn voor de behandeling van tumoren die traditioneel moeilijk te targeten zijn. 🌍 On October 9th, our PSA analysts Jean C. Salazar, PhD and Gilliam van Oudenaren represented NRG PALLAS Nuclear Solutions with impactful presentations at the PSAM17 & ASRAM2024 conference.   Jean C. Salazar, PhD Carlo presented on PSA Level 1-2-3 uncertainty propagation, alongside Hans Brinkman, offering insights into critical developments in nuclear safety.   Gilliam van Oudenaren shared the preliminary results from a benchmark comparison of Level-3 Probabilistic Safety Assessment codes, in collaboration with jacques grupa.   Their contributions reflect the innovative work being done at NRG PALLAS. Earlier this year NRG PALLAS hosted the 2nd Nuclear Innovation Conference in Amsterdam, and it was a resounding success. Member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands Silvio Erkens, who also attended, was interviewd about how nuclear energy is a crucial component for achieving a carbon-neutral energy system. “Nuclear energy is no longer taboo, with concrete investments being made in new nuclear plants”, he says. 💪 Every day, more than 30,000 patients worldwide depend on the medical isotopes produced in Petten. To secure the supply of current and new (treatment) isotopes in the future, it is vital that we build the PALLAS-reactor to replace the HFR. The recent approval of the European Commission of the Dutch government’s plan to invest money in the construction of the new reactor confirms the importance of a secured and innovative future.  The PALLAS-reactor is of strategic importance for the Netherlands and for Europe, and will have a great impact on patients worldwide, medical specialists, residents of Petten and the employees of the Energy & Health Campus.
