ANNOUNCEMENT Now available: OA Switchboard OJS plug-in Supporting diamond journals to increase the visibility of their OA output among research funders, libraries, and consortia Publishers using PKP's Open Journal Systems (OJS) to manage the researcher-to-reader workflow for submission, peer review, and production of scholarly articles, can now easily connect to OA Switchboard with a new OJS plug-in. With the plug-in installed, articles published will seamlessly and immediately be reported to relevant institutions and research funders. The relevant metadata will automatically be extracted on article level and pushed to the stakeholders in the standardised OA Switchboard message structure format.   This plug-in increases the visibility of publications to relevant stakeholders, makes reporting on OA output easier, improves discoverability, and eases integrations with downstream systems. As a bonus, the publishers will benefit from enhanced management information and better opportunities for portfolio management, as well as greater insights into their stakeholders and authors. The plug-in, developed open source by Lepidus Tecnologia, and with Openjournals.nl as testing partner, will soon be available from the PKP Plugin Gallery. Back with my bubble! It’s been far too long since the #OpenAccess community gathered in person for an Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association conference and while #OA is now a fixture of most industry conferences, I’d forgotten how great it is to share similar challenges with a community centered around a common goal. And yet, it seems our goal has shifted…For so long, we were focused on OA as an imperative; the question was “how do we get there?”, the challenge “how do we pay for this?”. In conversations and through panel discussions over the past few days, the community has become more reflective - what are we really trying to achieve with OA? And at what “cost”? We confronted some uncomfortable truths: the unintended consequences of the OA movement. We questioned our commitment to equity, to the true involvement of the global community in decision making and shaping the future. We asked where do we go with AI? And in between it all we ate lots and lots of pastel de nata! Thanks to all of the staff at OASPA - and especially Bernie Folan - for putting on such an incredible few days! It was a real pleasure being on the organizing committee this year and I look forward to 2025! #OASPA2024 #STMPublishing

Short and snappy is not my strength. I said this the day before yesterday at the #OASPA2024 conference! 😂 Today, I'm leaning into that. I *could* say "Hooray and thank you for being part of our in-person #OASPA2024!" And ask if you would like to meet next year. Instead, I feel like expressing it like this 👇 O ur one-room conference to connect and share, A place for coming together, for reminders of why we care. S tories of the empowerment access-to-knowledge brings              and discussion of many less-comfortable things... P  ausing to absorb perspectives new to you A  nd stepping outside your normal, into different shoes. T hank you for being there, to all who helped, and all who came; W e were honoured to host you in-person again! E very opposing viewpoint notwithstanding N o other goals but these were in our planning: T o inspire your thoughts and work on OA, Y  es, and make connections to help you along the way. 4 words now remain: *see you next year*...?!               (Is this what you had hoped to hear??????)  ----------- Happy Friday, and let us* know, in the comments, what you think about convening again?
