Congratulations to Next Capital Private Equity on their recent sale of Noisette to George Weston Foods. OC&C supported Next Capital with vendor due diligence. Established in 2005, Next Capital is a leading independent Australian private equity firm, specialising in partnership investments in small to medium growth businesses operating across several sectors. Noisette Bakery, acquired by Next Capital in 2018, is Australia’s leading artisanal wholesale bakery. Noisette has grown from a Melbourne-centric business from Next’s entry to the national market leader enabled by investment in management, production facilities, labour, procurement and logistics. George Weston Foods, a wholly owned subsidiary of Associated British Foods acquired the business for >$100 million. Niche, founded in 2009, is one of Australia’s largest privately owned environmental consultancies with natural capital & offsetting, ecology (terrestrial & aquatic), heritage management and spatial services as primary core services. Niche advises across sectors including government, energy transition, transport and utilities infrastructure, and natural resources management. Ausecology is a specialist ecology, rehabilitation and environmental consultancy, focusing on the transport, utilities infrastructure, resources and energy transition sectors. This acquisition will support Niche’s goal to strengthen their core environmental capability in Queensland and grow their market share on the east coast of Australia.
