Exciting news from the #ESRS conference in Seville, Spain! A multi-center study has demonstrated that Onera Health’s wireless, patch-based Onera Sleep Test System (STS) provides sleep staging data comparable to traditional in-lab polysomnography (PSG). The key findings from the study, which was presented during the 27th Congress of the European Sleep Research Society (ESRS) held from September 24-27, include: High concordance between Onera STS and traditional PSG for total sleep time, NREM, and REM sleep stages. The patch-based Onera STS showed strong performance in detecting N1, N2, and N3 sleep stages. Inter-scorer variability for Onera STS is similar to traditional PSG, indicating reliable scoring. This study, involving 206 participants across seven clinical sites, utilized blind scoring by three independent entities according to AASM criteria. The results highlight that the Onera STS enables accurate PSG studies outside the sleep laboratory, potentially improving access to diagnostic services for patients with sleep disorders.  As sleep medicine continues to advance, technologies like the Onera STS may play a crucial role in enabling sleep clinics to implement home-PSG programs and expanding clinical-grade sleep testing to populations in need.
