We’re excited to announce the winners of the second Orange Corners Innovation Fund (OCIF) subsidy round! 🏆 This round, which ran from 12 February to 1 April 2024, attracted impactful proposals from potential implementing partners across Senegal, Jordan, South Africa, Ghana, Egypt, Algeria and the Palestinian Territories.   Through OCIF, Orange Corners empowers young entrepreneurs with resources to scale their businesses, create jobs and tackle local social challenges. 🌍 As an extension of our incubation and acceleration programmes, OCIF bridges the financing gap by enabling investments in entrepreneurs who are often considered too high-risk by traditional funding sources. Since 2019, Orange Corners Senegal has been a game-changer for aspiring Senegalese entrepreneurs, helping them turn bold ideas into successful businesses. The fifth cohort in Dakar, powered by Haskè Ventures, just wrapped up - and the results are nothing short of amazing! Highlights: 🌟 Impressive business growth: participants saw a 500% average revenue increase, with one business even managing an impressive 4,100%! 🌟 Job creation: they expanded their workforce by 17 employees, with much more growth potential. 🌟 Funding and partnerships success: 16 new partnerships closed, and additional funding raised – in some cases up to 12,000+ euros. 👏 Special shoutout to Maela Cherif Ndiaye, Mouhamadou Mor Beye, Cherif Diallo, Papa Isaac François Mbow, Hamet Sow, Sikoti Mbaitjongue and all our other participants for their dedication. Happy International Youth Day ✨🌍   This year's theme, "From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development," highlights how young people lead the charge in digital adoption and innovation.   Today, we celebrate Adeyemi Olutoye, the entrepreneur behind Drugstore Nigeria—an online marketplace improving access to affordable, genuine medicines across Nigeria. 🇳🇬   Inspired by his father's struggles as a pharmacist, Yemi Olutoye started Drugstore Nigeria in 2018 to address a serious problem: the lack of essential medicines in cities and rural areas. Using a loan from his dad as his first seed fund, the business quickly gained traction, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the need for accessible healthcare became even more critical.   Yemi’s story is one of determination, innovation, and great impact. Despite starting small, with just one or two employees, his dedication paid off. Drugstore Nigeria is now a vital resource, helping to bridge the gap in medicine distribution in Nigeria, where people cannot find the medicines they need four out of ten times.   At the West Africa Deal Summit 2023, Yemi shared his vision for the future: to automate processes, reduce customer frustration, and expand Drugstore Nigeria across Africa. His goal is to create a system where finding medicine is as easy as checking your phone, making drug unavailability a thing of the past.   🌟 Yemi’s Vision: 1. Short-term: Automate processes to improve service and become Nigeria’s largest online pharmacy. 2.
