Frida spreads joy wherever she goes, and she’s especially excited when our electric delivery vehicles arrive. Always ready for cuddles and a treat, she’s the happiest greeter you’ll ever meet. 🚗 🍪 Now, let’s hear from Frida herself 🐕 : 'Hello, world! 🐾 I'm Frida, a lively and curious 6-month-old Golden Retriever. My breed was originally known for hunting, and I still love the thrill of chasing after things—especially when I hear the soft hum of a Picnic EPV approaching. I dash to the gate, hoping to greet the Picnic runners with cuddles. And if my family has ordered one of the delicious treats from the Picnic store, it’s a double win for me!' 🌊 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗟𝗦 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗺𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰! 🌊 On Sunday, September 8, 2024, a passionate group from Team Picnic dove into the Amsterdam canals to swim 2.1 km as part of the Amsterdam City Swim – all in support of raising funds for research to combat ALS, a progressive neurological disease. ALS research faces many challenges, but thanks to breakthroughs in genetic modification and gene therapies, there’s promising progress on the horizon. Over the years, Picnic has been proud to take part in this incredible event, where every stroke makes a difference. This year’s event was truly special – with 𝟮,𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 walking through the city center in swimsuits or wetsuits, then taking the plunge. Team Picnic contributed €𝟳𝟱𝗸 (thanks to our amazing suppliers!) towards the €𝟭.𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 raised so far, and the total is still climbing! We were 25 Picnic-ers strong, and each one of us made it to the finish line, radiating the energy and drive that defines Picnic. Together, we swam the extra mile – contributing, connecting, and showing our support for all those impacted by ALS. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 Alexander'𝘀 𝟭𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗻𝗶𝗰! 10 years ago, I walked into a small Amsterdam townhouse where a company—yet to be officially founded—was starting to take shape. I met the founders of what would soon become Picnic and embarked on an incredible journey alongside just three colleagues, not knowing what lay ahead. I was hired to build the Finance team from scratch, but like any startup, I found myself involved in many different areas—setting up the first hub location, developing the Fulfilment Center slotting tool, and more. A year later, we launched, and everything took off. I split my time between Finance and Growth, tackling everything from financial reports to customer journeys and events. The pace was so wild we could hardly keep up, but that’s what made it so exciting. On a Crazy Friday, you could find me delivering groceries as a Runner, picking orders as a Shopper, or helping out customers as a Customer Success agent.. After five years, I transitioned to the Distribution team, where I worked on projects like morning deliveries, vehicle safety, and optimizing delivery routes. Now, since 2 years I'm back at the Finance team, focusing on long-term projects like financial process improvements and rolling out a company-wide PO system. One of the things I really love about Picnic is the opportunities they give you to make horizontal moves between teams. You get the chance to change your work environment without leaving the company, making it a win-win for both Picnic (no onboarding needed) and its employees (no onboarding needed).  It feels like I’ve worked for four different companies, all under one roof.
