Sulfur, by Swedish indie dev Perfect Random, is absolutely wild to look at, featuring a wide variety of crazy monsters rendered in bright, colorful, blocky graphics. CEO & Co-founder Anton Albiin: “Sulfur’s uniqueness comes from its artstyle, smooth gameplay, quirky gunplay and rich customization options. Ascending Inferno is the debut game from Australian indie developer Oppolyon Studios. In the game, players must traverse the layers of hell to save their brother's soul. For these first-time developers, the process has been challenging. Co-founder Isaac Iozzi explains, “Working on the game on weekends and late at night is innately hard to do. Because of that, burnout tends to sneak up on us.” #indiedev #gamesindustry #gamedev #gamedesign #indiegamedev

"For too long, Africa has been portrayed as a continent that’s merely surviving, struggling through hardship and battling stereotypes. But this year’s Africacomicade’s Gamathon shattered that outdated lens, replacing it with a vivid, inspiring view of African excellence and growth." It took author Richard Moss and art director Sam Dyer of Bitmap Books Ltd. about two years to research, write and design A Tale of Two Halves: The History of Football Video Games. One of Moss' findings after talking to several football game designers: “There’s a fine line between good, satisfying depth and excessive, tedious depth and designers often struggle to find the right balance point between the two.” #gamesindustry #retrogames #sportgames #footballgames #gamedesign

Accelerating the b2b side of the digital entertainment through events, media, agency, accelerators and investment.
Games media have been suffering. Our very own PreMortem Games is not doing commercially well either. The statistics and reach of our b2b media platform is way above what I expected. People return to our stories about solo-development, and about game studios and development in non-Western regions and all the other content. Still, the site is far from breaking even. This means that we will close operations on December 31st, 2024 UNLESS something changes. If you have enjoyed our PreMortem Games content over the past years, consider contributing: 1) We need sponsors looking to reach ten-thousands of game developers and prefessionals at scale through Sponsored Stories and Banners: https://lnkd.in/e6-Jq7AG 2) We need small contributions on our Ko-Fi page: https://lnkd.in/ejqv-4cq Help us keeping independant b2b magazines alive and kicking. #PreMortemGames #GamesMedia
