  • In our fast-paced work environment, taking care of oneself can sometimes be challenging, but it is essential. Maarten Boot, our company physician, reminds us that vitality begins with waking up feeling fit. Key points: * Recognize the signals: Difficulty getting out of bed or a lack of energy are often early indicators that you need to pay extra attention to your health. * Extra care and attention: Working in polluted environments or rotating night shifts requires a conscientious approach and the use of personal protective equipment. * Set health goals: Small daily choices, such as quitting smoking, opting for healthy nutrition, have a good nightrest, can yield significant benefits. Be honest with yourself about your health and take advantage of the healthy options your employer provides. It’s not only an investment in your work performance but also in your overall well-being and enjoyment of life. At Royal Vaassen, we are committed to fostering a healthier workplace and a more vital life! 💚 #royalvaassen #vitality

  • It is December 1964. When the factory siren sounded at 12:00, the workers rushed home to have a warm meal. If you wanted to enjoy your lunch leisurely, you had to hurry. An hour later, the siren would wail again, and everyone had to return to work! Fun fact: On the right side of the square, the railway tracks used to transport goods to the iron foundry can still be seen.

  • Royal Vaassen was asked to supply a lightweight cap solution for an innovative water bottle: The drop. This small single-use bottle is consumed in one go. Sustainability and branding were key to the solution. Timing was of the essence. With a fast and flexible response we created a sustainable solution including the art work. For the single-use bottles, thin plastic was chosen. Where normally screw caps are used, we provided a special lightweight lid of thin aluminum foil. The print on the cap maximized the branding of the DROP bottle. Close cooperation with the machine supplier ensured fast and smooth acceptance. As a result the customer was able to launch the product in a short time frame and quickly grow its market share to a significant level. The concept is about to be rolled out to other countries. The value we created for our customer ✅  Minimal environmental impact ✅  Maximize branding ✅  Successful in multiple regions www.royalvaassen.com

  • "I enjoy a bit of hustle and bustle," says Simone Hofstee about her first impression of Royal Vaassen. Recently, she has been providing administrative support in the HR department on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. "Colleagues can come to me to sort out practical matters. I assist them and answer all HR-related questions, such as those about pay slips, leave arrangements like maternity or parental leave, the generation pact, you name it. I think it’s important that everyone feels free to drop by and ask their questions. I want to give 100% for Royal Vaassen because I enjoy working here." #royalvaassen #nieuwecollega #HR

  • Royal Vaassen was asked to develop the main components for composite cans. The customer was under pressure and wanted to change supplier quickly. We transformed into a one-stop-shop supplier to meet the set criteria of the product to be delivered. We challenged the current monopoly supplier in terms of quality and performance and produced several new products so that the main components of the composite tin met all criteria. We came up with all kinds of innovative solutions not only for the ring of the can, but also for the material of the wrapping box and the lip. The correct choice of material, as well as its thickness, played a crucial role in this process. In the end, we managed to achieve a perfect result under time pressure. Thanks to these innovative solutions, we became a one-stop-shop supplier for the critical components of these composite cans. Rapid technical support and further developments since delivery enabled the customer to switch to a new supplier quickly and worry-free. The value we created for our customer: ✅ New solutions ✅ Own innovative development ✅  Equivalent product #royalvaassen #solutions #innovation #composite #tin

At Royal Vaassen, we believe that success begins with continuous innovation and improvement. That is why we have forged a strong partnership with Q-Consult Progress Partners to elevate our business processes to new heights. In 2022, we initiated this project, which experienced a brief hiatus. However, as of May 2024, we have resumed work on QCPP. Through the VLEX (Vaassen Levert EXcellent) Continuous Improvement Program - based on Lean Six Sigma methodologies - we work daily on reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The VLEX roadmap follows the motto of Marco Snoeren MBA, Operational Director at Royal Vaassen: "Stabilize. Standardize. Optimize. You can only embark on a comprehensive project like VLEX when you've achieved a certain level of operational stability." After gathering various improvement ideas, we launched several waste reduction initiatives in multiple areas. These initiatives were spearheaded by a Lean Six Sigma-trained VLEX core team, which included Assistant Team Leaders. This led to the implementation of several projects, such as: - Quick & Easy Kaizens to establish uniform agreements and procedures across shifts; - Kaizens aimed at reducing waste through improved setup pieces and better winding processes; - A DMAIC project to eliminate the root cause of stains once and for all. Beyond these improvement projects, we also focused on fostering an organization and culture that thrives on continuous improvement. This resulted in a growing belief throughout the company in the value of ongoing enhancement. What began with waste reduction has now expanded into a company-wide commitment to improvement, with ideas being shared more frequently due to enhanced communication and better listening. Since May 2024 Royal Vaassen, with the support of QCPP where needed, has been focusing on improving the handover from R&D to Operations and achieving even more First Time Right outcomes. Additionally, we are placing greater emphasis on nurturing a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging more proactivity, ownership, and individual responsibility. #Innovation #efficiency #sustainablegrowth #wastereduction #royalvaassen
