October 5th, is World Teachers Day! 🌎 Teachers are crucial for fostering intercultural, multilingual understanding. Through the sharing of indigenous wisdom and language inclusive practices, teachers empower their students. They enable students to connect with others but also with their own culture in ways that benefit both the individual student and their communities. On 5 October 2024, #InternationalTeachersDay, we conclude the #IndigenousWomenEducators campaign by reflecting on the stories and wisdom shared by six remarkable Indigenous women. 🌟 Their work as educators, leaders, and guardians of knowledge offers us lessons rooted in their lived experiences. 💧 Through their stories, these women have taught us that knowledge rooted in culture, land, and community is essential for building a more sustainable and just world. As we honor them today, may their lessons continue to guide us all in our roles as educators and caretakers of the Earth. 🌱 Find out more about the Indigenous Women Educators award and the 6 winners: https://lnkd.in/ek8wmF_P Follow the Indigenous-Led Education (ILED) Network on instagram for more stories: https://lnkd.in/eDWFZ8iR #WorldTeachersDay #InternationalTeachersDay #TeachersInspire #ThankATeacher #CelebratingTeachers #EducatorsOfChange #SeedResilience #IndigenousWisdom #SustainableFuture #ILEDNetwork#indigenouseducationmatters#indigenousyouth#ILEDnetwork#indigenous#indigenousresilience#genderindigenouscommunities#RedILED#LanzamientoDelPodcast#MujeresIndígenas #importanciaeducacionindigena#juventudindigena#RedILED#indígena#resilienciaindígena#géneroencomunidadesindígenas #smallgrants #indigenouseducationmatters#indigenousyouthfellows#indigenousyouth #MujeresIndígenas #AprendizajeMutuo #patrimonioinmaterial #patrimoniovivo UNESCO Keystone Foundation Both ENDS Forest Peoples Programme Language Friendly School Emmanuelle Le Pichon- Vorstman Dr Ellen-Rose Kambel Nigel Crawhall Andriamiseza Noro Norma Zamora
