Meet Min Patat, Head of Risk Control and Compliance at SHV Energy’s Supply & Risk Management (S&RM) entity in Paris, France.  After sharing S&RM’s new webpage earlier this week, we’re delighted to introduce the first of several colleagues who are proud to share their thoughts about working at S&RM. This week, our business, Primagaz France, marked World Youth Skills Day by shining the spotlight on Belen, a Customer Relationship and Experience Manager, who is undertaking a work-study programme at the company. In this brief video, Gabriel Rodrigues Romero, Sustainability Manager at Supergasbras Energia Ltda, our business in Brazil, proudly introduces the ‘Super Recolhe’ project that’s featured in SHV Energy’s 2023 Sustainability Report and on our website. Super Recolhe (Portuguese for ‘Super Collect’) is a Used Cooking Oil (UCO) recycling project that concluded its second phase in January this year, having collected thousands of litres of UCO from the community. The project not only prevented the incorrect disposal of UCO and subsequent contamination of local waters, but the UCO that was collected can be converted into biodiesel. What’s more, all the revenue generated from the project will be invested into social aid actions. Super Recolhe was recognised for its positive impact at the Dutcham - Dutch Brazilian Chamber of Commerce - Inspire Awards in 2023, winning in the Environment and Climate category. Proud of our colleagues at GASPOL, SHV Energy's business in Poland, for driving digital innovation for customers and distributors, by replacing paper receipts with e-receipts. Customers purchasing cylinders receive their receipt in an email or text message which is fast, easy and convenient. Meanwhile, distributors benefit from real-time cylinder price information, the ability to arrange new deliveries, and access an overview of past receipts, among others. GASPOL is the only LPG supplier that provides e-receipts in Poland making it a fantastic example of how we are Advancing Energy Together in the market. Yesterday, SHV Energy proudly contributed to a roundtable discussion as part of SHV’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Week. Featuring voices from across the SHV family of companies, the roundtable is one of several activities organised to promote employee awareness, engagement and education on this important topic. More than one thousand SHV colleagues from across the globe took part to learn more about the benefits of embracing diversity beyond boundaries. Our thanks to neuroscientist, Dr. Marcia Goddard, for sharing her expert insights into the importance of recognising and appreciating the unique contributions of every person, and the steps that we as individuals can take to actively foster an environment where everyone feels valued and heard. We’d also like to acknowledge those who shared their personal experiences and perspectives: Júlio Cardoso, CEO of Supergasbras Energia Ltda, our business in Brazil, Georgie Debenham, SHV Energy’s Director of Renewables, and Danielle Rainha, Chief People Officer, SHV Energy. Following last week’s European Liquid Gas Congress in Lyon, SHV Energy would like to thank all the speakers for sharing their perspectives, as well as Liquid Gas Europe and the entire #ELGC2024 team, for another successful and insightful event. Together with our Primagaz France and Futuria Fuels businesses, SHV Energy was honoured to contribute to several important discussions about the increasingly vital role that liquid gas plays in advancing inclusive off-grid energy in Europe. Over the course of the two-day congress, we heard from panellists: Jan Schouwenaar, CEO, Primagaz France, who emphasised: "Today, liquid gases represent a flexible, affordable and more sustainable energy solution for rural off-grid customers." Rebecca Groen, CEO, Futuria Fuels, who underscored: “Building to the future, continued innovation today is essential for increasing access to affordable renewable liquid gases." Silvia Estivill Tarrago, Head of European Affairs, SHV Energy, who contributed to a discussion on the future of heating and mobility. Goher Ur Rehman Mir, Head of Global Sustainable Fuels Policy, Futuria Fuels, who took part in a discussion on renewable liquid gas in Europe in 2030 and beyond. Special thanks to Emmanuel Puvis de Chavannes, Director, Public Affairs and Communications, Primagaz France, for moderating a fascinating panel focusing on off-grid business energy users.
