🚛 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲: 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝? The choice may appear straightforward, but the path to efficiency often demands strategic insight. Let's delve into key questions for unlocking CO2 reductions: 𝟏. 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲? If not, consider leveraging a 4PL control tower's expertise to optimize stacking methods, ensuring maximum efficiency and reducing unnecessary transport. 𝟐. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭? The pallet height is often matched to production and/or the end-customer wishes. Transport is rarely considered when the pallet height is configured. Matching the pallet height with the equipment optimizes shipment volume and reduces the carbon footprint as well as transport costs per product. 𝟑. 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝? Ensuring compatibility between both ends of the supply chain streamlines processes and minimizes wasted time and energy. As this can be challenging with multiple players involved, bringing in a 4PL provider as a trustee is a proven concept. Thus, collaborate with a 4PL provider to streamline loading and unloading procedures, minimize idle time and maximize transport efficiency. 𝟒. 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧? Evaluating weight restrictions enables smarter decisions, such as transitioning to other equipment to accommodate double-stacked pallets and ensure an optimal load fill rate. 𝟓. 𝐈𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝? Harness the resources of a 4PL control tower to assess and optimize available equipment types. A fast carrier network with European coverage ensures the best-fitting equipment's availability for seamless integration of double-stacked pallets and maximizes fill rates. By maximizing fill rates through double-stacked pallets, businesses can optimize transport capacity, safe costs, reduce the number of trucks on the road, and significantly lower CO2 emissions. 🌟 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐖𝐚𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬' 𝟒𝐏𝐋 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫: As experts in innovative and hands-on logistics solutions, SmartWay Logistics offers a comprehensive 4PL control tower service. Our team leverages advanced technology and industry expertise to assist shippers in optimizing their supply chains. From strategic planning to real-time monitoring, we provide actionable insights to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and achieve #sustainability goals. #TransportEfficiency #4PLControlTower

𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 Buying transport to ship your goods via the road is relatively simple. As a Supply Chain Manager, you know this. However, getting a clear idea about the total costs is more challenging. 𝐖𝐡𝐲? Well, you have to deal with many different cost components within transport. 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬 First, you have the freight rate as the basis of the charge. The most common extra charge is the fuel surcharge, which fluctuates. Then, carriers claim waiting hours due to long queues at the \(un\)loading locations. In addition, deliveries might have to occur at night or evening, which also brings extra costs, as does pallet exchange and avis. 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Cancellations happen, and they come with a price. So, how much should be paid for a cancellation? And what if this cancellation happens with the truck on its way to its destination? Or, what if your customer refuses the goods and the driver has to return your goods to the loading site? 𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬 Yes there can be more, other accessorial charges like export documentation, ferries and such can occur. Perhaps these are not always applicable, but be careful: they can seriously add up to your total freight spend. 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞... As if the multitude of different costs isn't enough, there is another complicating factor: Each carrier has its own rates for all mentioned costs. 𝐒𝐨 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐧𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬? To control your total transport costs, it is essential to have complete knowledge about all of these accessorial charges as a #supplychain Manager. Therefore, you want to have a sound knowledge of transport, a complete administration of all the charges involved and have them accessible in a clear report. This way, you can keep your #transport costs within your #transportbudget.
