This week, Gillian Caldwell, USAID’s Climate Lead, joined teams from Solidaridad Network, NWF International, University of Wisconsin-Madison and Fundación Proyección Eco-Social to see how dairy companies are using monitoring & traceability tools to create low-carbon, deforestation-free supply chains. The dairy company La Catira , with a rich history in the department of Meta, Colombia, sees the tools as an avenue for ensuring the long-term viability of the industry, especially as demand rises for responsibly-sourced products. "Monitoring and traceability help us back up our brand promise to consumers with facts and figures," says Sandra Valero, Marketing and Production Plant Director at La Catira.
