𝑬𝒙𝒄𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒏𝒆𝒘𝒔 ⚡ the renovation of Proteion has officially begun! We’re transforming the basement level into a dynamic and inviting space, expanding it on both sides to create a brand-new 𝒍𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒉 & 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌 café at the heart of Proteion’s HQ's. This hidden gem 💎 will be a 𝒘𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆 where connection and collaboration take center stage. A space where office tenants and visitors can gather, enjoy lunch together, and engage in informal meetings - something the building was missing until now. To bring natural light into the underground level, the extensions at both the front and rear will feature large skylights, while the middle zone will be illuminated by daylight lamps that mimic natural light, creating an active and pleasant atmosphere. 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 is at the core of this project. ♻️ All materials used are either 𝒃𝒊𝒐-𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒅 or 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒚𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒅, and the combination of natural tones and greenery will give the interior a fresh, organic feel, 𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙡𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙙𝙤𝙤𝙧𝙨. This 𝒎𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒆 will not only serve as a café but also as the perfect spot for meetings, presentations, and events - turning the basement into the place to be! 🔨 Completion is scheduled for Q3. We are proud to share the design for an extension we created for a client in Amsterdam-West! 🏡✨ This 20-square-meter addition not only provides the family with extra living space but also ensures that each child has their own room as they grow older—an invaluable upgrade to their home! For the design and materialization, we drew inspiration from the Amsterdam School style, which defines the original building. Our goal was to enhance the characteristic features of the apartment complex while ensuring that the extension seamlessly blends with the existing architecture. We’re excited to share a project we designed a few years ago, which continues to inspire us with its 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 and thoughtful design principles. At the heart of this project was a commitment to creating a space that seamlessly blends with its rural Portuguese surroundings while offering a tranquil haven for yoga practitioners. Tucked away behind a grove of pine trees, 𝑴𝒆𝒊𝒂 𝑳𝒖𝒂 𝒀𝒐𝒈𝒂 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒂 offers a serene retreat for practice. This beautifully designed 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘢 accommodates up to 36 participants, doubling the capacity of the original yoga space. Staying true to the architectural character of the area, the 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘢 is constructed using three key natural materials: wood, stone, and glass. Nestled on a steep, forested mountain slope, the design prioritizes 𝙨𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮. Stone and wood are the primary materials, chosen to minimize the ecological footprint. Its simple yet elevated structure is tailored to adapt to the uneven, rocky terrain with minimal disruption to the natural landscape. A particularly innovative feature of this 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘢 is its mass timber columns and beams, which are connected with glueless wooden joints. This not only ensures structural integrity but also allows the building to be disassembled and reused in the future, reinforcing its sustainable approach. Additionally, the design employs small, manageable components for on-site assembly, ensuring efficient construction while respecting the environment. Last year, we had the opportunity to design the (𝗚𝗲𝗻)𝗔𝗜 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 for IG&H We’re proud to share an impression of this inspiring project! A place where 𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 and 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 come together to bring ideas to life. The concept behind the design revolves around '𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵,' inspired by the dynamic nature of technology. The flowing forms in the design symbolize the speed of light, connection, and the continuous progress in the world of AI. Key principles such as movement, speed, connection, and light were at the heart of the design. Our aim? Bij het ontwerpen van een ruimte draait het om meer dan alleen esthetiek; het gaat om sfeer, hoe je gasten de ruimte gaan beleven en hoe een plek mensen laat voelen. Voor 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝑺𝑶𝑴𝑴 in 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗽 stonden we voor een aantal grote uitdagingen. De ruimte heeft een langgerekte vorm – bijna een soort pijpenla – en was vrij donker. Toch wilden we een interieur creëren dat uitnodigend, warm en huiselijk aanvoelt, alsof je bij een goede vriend aan tafel zit. Dat hebben we geprobeerd te vertalen naar een ontwerp: waarin we hebben gewerkt met rijke materialen, warme kleuren en goede verlichting en akoestiek. Elk detail moest bijdragen aan het gevoel dat je als gast centraal staat. Maar laten we eerlijk zijn: als ontwerper blijf je altijd benieuwd of wat je in je hoofd hebt bedacht, ook in de praktijk zo wordt ontvangen. Het voelt als een enorme eer om te lezen 𝙝𝙤𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙚𝙨 over de sfeer en het interieur van SOMM worden achtergelaten. Klik door op de foto’s om ze te lezen! As the year draws to a close, we reflect on 2024 with heartfelt gratitude and pride. For this property management company, we fully furnished the apartment, leaving no detail overlooked. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀, 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 It’s rewarding to see that an interior you designed years ago, is still in great use and remains still highly relevant and modern. ✨ 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝗢𝗠𝗠 (now winebar 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿) is one of the first projects realised. Once an empty space now a cosy place where you can go for a good glass of wine with matching dishes. And after 7 years, it still looks great! We stay away from trends, ensuring that our designs remain 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔. Far too often, especially in cities like Amsterdam, we still see entire interiors discarded when a restaurant changes hands. A terrible waste! But when this place got in new hands, the new owners only made minor changes, like changing the color of the wall and the logo on the window. A much more 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 which avoids unnecessary waste. So still proud on this one! We warmly invite everyone to come and experience this place for themselves.
