Last week's tech meltdown wasn't a hack! A faulty update from CrowdStrike, a security company, crashed millions of Windows machines (8.5 million to be exact). Here's the breakdown: July 19th: CrowdStrike releases a bad update for their Falcon software on Windows. The update clashed with Windows, causing crashes and blue screens. Mostly impacted Windows 10 & 11 users (sorry folks!). This glitch brought airlines, hospitals, and businesses to a halt. It's a wake-up call for how important a diverse tech toolbox is! Here's how to be more resilient: Use a variety of hardware and software (don't put all your eggs in one basket!). Test updates thoroughly before rolling them out. Have backup systems for critical functions in case of software glitches. Remember, CrowdStrike is software, not hardware, but this incident shows how they're connected. By considering hardware too, we can build stronger shields against tech meltdowns!
