We are once again trialling new e-reefer technology on one of our refrigerated trailers as part of our move towards decarbonised refrigeration transportation. This time, ‘energy recuperation axle’ technology is put to the test whereby energy is recovered from every-day braking or downhill driving and used to power the trailer’s refrigeration unit. The trial will see the co-developed Thermo King + BPW Limited e-reefer technology fitted to a CHEREAU refrigerated trailer from Reefer Trailer Centre and operate in the cold chain sector on UK roads by TIP customers. Throughout the trial, we’ll be monitoring the system’s effectiveness via regular reports, which will help better understand the impact of the technology for ‘cold chain’ operators compared to traditional diesel-powered units and alternative e-reefer technologies.⚡️ Read more on the story here: https://lnkd.in/eFrsNRXD #Sustainability #Innovation #GreenTransportation

🏗 ⚒ Work in progress ⚒🏗   TIP Secure Truck Parking Isoparc Sorigny is getting bigger (and better).   Following its acquisition in May this year, TIP has started the construction works to upgrade Secure Truck Parking Isoparc Sorigny to TIP standards. With this upgrade, we are targeting to reach Gold level in the EU Parking standard and TAPA PSR1.   Works include: ➡ Extension from 146 to 179 spaces (+33 spaces) ➡ Redesign of parking entry points ➡ CCTV & perimeter security upgrade ➡ Construction of a driver lounge building that will host all amenities for drivers (restroom & showers, vending machines, laundry, rest area & TVs and many other services) as well as the security agent’s front desk. ➡ A small market for drivers ➡ An outdoor fitness area   Works are expected to be completed in April 2025, but the site remains opened during this time. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the works.   𝑨𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑻𝑰𝑷 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑻𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒌 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑰𝒔𝒐𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒄 𝑺𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒚 The parking is strategically located in Sorigny, south of Tours, at the junction of 3 major highways: A10, A85 and A28. It is less than 1 km away from A10 highway, connecting Paris to Bordeaux & the Iberian Peninsula, where 7,000 trucks are driving by every day. The parking is already operating and is fully covered with photovoltaic sunshades. There are also hydrogen & LNG stations nearby.
