Deze nieuwe treinservice biedt een efficiënte en duurzame oplossing voor containertransport tussen beide havenregio’s. 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢ë𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐮𝐮𝐫𝐳𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 De Dam2Dam shuttle is een goederentreinverbinding tussen de TMA-terminal in de haven van Amsterdam en diverse terminals in de haven van Rotterdam. Het transport over spoor biedt grote voordelen. Eén goederentrein vervangt ongeveer 100 vrachtwagens. Dat zorgt zowel voor minder verkeersdrukte als voor een aanzienlijke vermindering van CO2-uitstoot. Deze treinverbinding rijdt 8 keer per week op vaste tijden. Modal Shift: Van weg naar spoor Deze modal shift van wegtransport naar spoorvervoer is een belangrijke stap in de richting van duurzamer goederenvervoer. Zowel Port of Amsterdam als Port of Rotterdam streven ernaar om de ecologische voetafdruk van hun logistieke ketens te verkleinen. Het stimuleren van treinvervoer draagt bij aan dit doel en versterkt tegelijkertijd de efficiëntie en betrouwbaarheid van het transport. 𝐄𝐞𝐧 𝐠𝐞𝐳𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐣𝐤𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐞 ‘’We zijn blij met deze samenwerking. Join the modal shift" roepen beide havenbedrijven de logistieke sector op om deel uit te maken van deze beweging naar duurzamer transport.
