De overheid stuurt nog steeds brieven en we uploaden massaal pdf’s. Het wordt tijd om dit papieren proces te digitaliseren.’ Dit vindt ook de EU: recent is besloten dat alle Europeanen een digitale identiteit krijgen. Boris: ‘Binnen twee jaar heeft iedereen een digitale portemonnee met daarin een ID-bewijs – onafhankelijk van Apple en Google. Europa wil, terecht, digitale soevereiniteit.’ 💼 ‘Officiële documenten hebben unieke chips zodat ze niet te klonen zijn. Om een paspoort toe te voegen aan de wallet van een mobiele telefoon heeft die eigenlijk een uniek stukje hardware nodig. With the arrival of eIDAS 2.0, governmental organizations and other Authentic Sources have their work cut out for them. In the coming months, they need to get their databases in order so they can correctly and efficiently issue attributes. The long-awaited draft acts for the eIDAS 2.0 Implementing Acts were published last week - providing Wallet Providers, Relying Parties, QTSPs, and other stakeholders the tools to further develop their eIDAS 2.0 solutions. Among the documents made available, the Commission has published an Annex named 'Technical specifications for person identification data', elaborating on the technical background of the mandatory and optional attributes. The drafts for the Implementing Acts under eIDAS 2.0 are now live! https://lnkd.in/eHJRxNVk The public consultation has now started. In this process, all eIDAS 2.0 stakeholders and experts will be able to provide feedback to the European Commission. The draft acts are open for feedback for four weeks, from August 12th to September 9th. The Commission will then analyze the feedback and contributions received. Ubiqu will be working with the US Department of Homeland Security on a two-year project to help identify, develop, and implement privacy-enhancing technologies to meet Homeland Security's mission needs, Homeland Security has announced. Collaborating with five other startups, Ubiqu will be integrating its Remote Secure Element (RSE) technology with digital wallets supporting W3C VCDM and W3C DID standards. This allows users to maintain sole control over their credentials, ensuring transparency and consent, while providing comprehensive recovery solutions - facilitating a highly secure and convenient user experience for digital credential services. Selected through a highly competitive process, Ubiqu was awarded $197,961 and is eligible for up to $1.7M across the four S&T's Silicon Valley Innovation Program phases. Apple will share its “tap and go" tech with third-party digital wallet providers for free, the tech giant conceded on July 11 after a four-year investigation from the European Commission.
