In preparation for the #AESIS2024 grand summit happening on November 28 and 29 in Cape Town, the She Wins Africa program, an IFC - International Finance Corporation initiative, implemented in partnership with VC4A, selected 5 female-led startups to participate in the Nairobi investor meetup on October 17th. The selected founders from LIBE GREEN INNOVATION, SAFE GIRL, eShandi, Drop Access Limited and SULMA WHOLE FOODS participated in a Sales Growth workshop led by Frank Masinde, a subject-matter expert with 25 years of experience in sales and marketing. The workshop was followed by a founder story by Hilda Moraa who raised over US$ 11M for her company Pezesha, from which she shared powerful insights about fundraising as a female founder in Africa. 🙋🏾♀️ The She Winners had the opportunity to present an elevator pitch to the investors attending the Meetup, and engaged with them further through a networking cocktail. It's like figuring out how expensive it is to convince someone to buy your product or service. ............................................... ℹ️ LTV (Lifetime Value) - The total revenue a business can expect from a single user account throughout their relationship with the company. With this metric, a business can forecast revenue, and better plan acquisition and retention strategies or goals. ............................................... ℹ️ Monthly burn rate - The amount of money a company spends each month to cover its operating expenses. It is used to measure how quickly a business is using its cash reserves, before it needs additional funding. ............................................... ℹ️ Gross margins - This is how much money a business keeps from its sales after paying for the direct costs of making or buying its products or cost of services. ............................................... ℹ️ MRR growth rate - Month-to-month percentage increase in Monthly Recurring Revenue for a startup.
