🏃 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗥𝘂𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 🏃 Last Sunday, October 6th, our dedicated Venturnianen participated in the annual Harbour Run in Rotterdam, embracing the challenge with enthusiasm! A total of 20 team members committed their Sunday to an afternoon filled with adventure and competition. With the sun shining brightly, we gathered at the starting line at the iconic Heijplaat, ready to take the course. The Harbour Run offered more than just a running experience. Participants could choose between a challenging 6 or 10 kilometers, with most opting for the demanding 10K route! In addition to running, we faced various obstacles, including climbing over containers and even an electric shock ⚡challenge for the truly brave. The route also allowed us to appreciate the vibrant maritime industry and our valued Venturn partners along the way. After navigating the course, our team members crossed the finish line one by one, proudly receiving their well-deserved medals. To conclude the day, we enjoyed a refreshing beverage and some light snacks together, celebrating our achievements as a team. A big thank you to the Harbour Run Rotterdam 2024 organizers for an engaging and memorable experience! 🛟 Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity 🛟 Last week, 2 Venturn Young Professionals got the opportunity to bring the new Rescue Vessel of the KNRM station Hansweert from Hoek van Holland to Hansweert on a beautiful Thursday evening. 🌅 The 135-kilometer trip was sailed in 2 hours and 35 minutes (28 knots, 52 km/h on average). We bounced on the choppy North Sea, dodged cargo ships exiting the port of Vlissingen and navigated through the sandbanks of the Westerschelde. ⚓ It was fascinating to experience how the volunteers of the KNRM communicate and support each other to safely travel at such high speeds for long periods of time. It was a small insight into the complexity of saving people in distress in all sorts of weather conditions. 🚨 The fact that Joris van Diermen and Arthur K. could join the crew for this trip is a testament to the strong connection between Venturn and KNRM station Hansweert, and we would like to extend a massive thank you to the volunteers for this opportunity! 🙏 #RescueMission #MaritimeExperience #Teamwork #Adventure #ProfessionalDevelopment #Seafaring #Volunteering #Venturn #Youngprofessionals #VYP #traineeship

🚤 KNRM Family Day in Hansweert 🚤 Saturday, September 14, it was time again for the annual Venturn - KNRM Family Day at Rescue Station Hansweert, and what a fantastic day it was! Under a bright shining sun, Venturn employees invited their families to take a look behind the scenes at Koninklijke Nederlandse Redding Maatschappij (KNRM). One of the highlights of the day was undoubtedly the exciting rescue exercise on the water. During this demonstration, a man went overboard and family members, accompanied by the KNRM crew, were given the opportunity to get the drowning person on board themselves. A unique opportunity to experience how rescue work is done. Back inside the rescue station, visitors received a fascinating presentation of the work of KNRM, the rich history of Rescue Station Hansweert and some impressive national rescue operations.  The day ended in style with a nice BBQ. One of the KNRM crew members also turned out to be a grill master and treated everyone to a delicious meal of meat, fish and fresh salads.  All in all, it was a great day full of sun, action and good food. We are already looking forward to the next edition! ⚓  The Royal Dutch Rescue Society (KNRM) runs entirely on donations, and we are happy to do our part! Since 2008, we have set up a fund that supports KNRM Hansweert. We are proud to call ourselves donors of this heroic organization for 16 years now. Wishing Caroline van Geuns Success in Her Next Chapter! Our mission has been accomplished! 🎉 Through our VYP program, Caroline van Geuns has developed into a Young Professional within the maritime sector. During her time at Venturn, Caroline successfully completed the VYP program and made valuable contributions at the Port of Rotterdam under Venturn's name.   In addition to her challenging assignment, Caroline emerged as a true mentor by taking on the role of VYP-mama. Her dedication and commitment to guiding the Venturn Young Professionals have had a significant impact, and we are incredibly grateful for her efforts. 🙏   Now it's time for Caroline to spread her wings! 🦅 She is taking on a new role at the Port of Rotterdam as a Project Control Coordinator.
