The strong signature look and inherent capability of a Doggersbank, with its solid hull shape, steel hull and aluminium superstructure, made it an appealing platform for a young and adventurous owner with big ambition. A 2.5-year refit, costing over $8million, has seen 27.5m Slow Poke enhanced with a 2.5-metre hull extension, and efficiencies made to increase speed and reduce fuel burn. A bulbous bow was introduced, which reduces resistance along the waterline, and new underwater lights installed, along with a glass window equipped with cameras - in honour of Jack Cousteau - that allows guests to watch marine life from screens in the guest cabins and bridge.

At last week's Dubai International Boat Show, we unveiled 101m Lily in collaboration with Oceanco. It's the latest #superyacht design to join their Beyond Custom line up, and takes its inspiration from the petals of waterlily. More details on our website: https://lnkd.in/e9hYstYP #yachtdesign

Presenting the radical 101m Lily, the next vessel in Oceanco’s Beyond Custom series, designed by Vripack. Pushing the parameters of design with its asymmetrical structure, expansive use of glass, and split-level arrangement that diminishes interior barriers, this is a #superyacht for those who seek a new way of life on the water. Peeling back the petals, the design reveals overlapping decks that appear unconnected, intersecting spaces in a way that unites the interior with one-and-a-half deck heights. As you are drawn further into the heart of the vessel, the half decks eventually come together via a glass mezzanine and stairway. “For Oceanco, Beyond Custom is about conceiving the type of project that doesn’t come out of any other shipyard, and Lily is a concept that steps beyond our industry standards. It’s a boundaryless onboard experience, like the ocean itself, providing pure freedom within the whole concept. It reflects our belief that it’s in the uniqueness of an idea where the true value for the future owner lies.” - Vripack co-creative director, Marnix J. Hoekstra

When Vripack founder Dick Boon and DaVinci founder Steven Boersma set out to create the perfect weekend boat, little did they know that their creation in 2002, the DaVinci 29, would pave the way for a flagship 44-foot model. The DaVinci Yachts are designed inside and out by Vripack, including interior, exterior and naval architecture. Inspiration came from the lobster boats that proliferate the US east coast, and the fluid lines of these elegant vessels remain integral to the DaVinci brand’s design DNA. “Owning a DaVinci is all about slowing down and being in the moment. These boats attract people who want to enjoy time on the water, rather than be seen on the water.” - Joost Mertens, Sales Manager at Vripack. DaVinci is more than a Dutch alliance. It’s a Friesland way of life.
