Verzamelen, delen, vergelijken. Transparantie van de arbeidsmarkt in 208 landen wereldwijd
Over ons

Workers were drawn to the #GigEconomy by the promise of flexibility and control over their time. But behind the veneer of freedom were costs that add up. So, are the hidden costs of working in the platform economy worth the trade-off? Is there a way for this unpaid work to become visible and for #workers to be compensated for it? Join us our upcoming webinar next Tuesday where Uma Rani, Senior Economist at the International Labour Organization, will deliver the keynote address. Is a contract the solution to protecting gig workers? In developing countries like India, where most workers are in the informal sector, access to social security is limited. Can platforms, with their broad view of fragmented markets, make gig work more inclusive, safe, and valuable for workers? 🎧 For the Gig Work podcast, platform expert Martijn Arets explores this with Prakash Gupta and Apoorv Kulkarni from OMI Foundation's Centre for Inclusive Mobility. 🔗 Read the full blog on Gigpedia! https://lnkd.in/eBpYmnFu 💻 Sign up for our upcoming webinar! The Gig team will also be hosting a new webinar on Zoom on 29 October, 3 PM CET, to explore the issue of unpaid work in the platform economy. The #GigEconomy arose in response to market failures, making the lives of consumers across the world easier. But is it failing the workers who make it possible? More specifically, what is the truth behind the alleged flexibility it offers them, and what are the hidden costs they bear in making the world a more 'convenient' place. Join us to discuss this in two weeks, as we get to the root of the problem and try to identify ways ahead!
