Find us at FLIBS 2024… Our programme for this year’s edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is packed with a range of initiatives to bring the Revolution to the US. We’re proud that the Important Marine Mammal Areas (IMMA) programme, which we’re currently raising funds for the North West Atlantic, was chosen as the beneficiary of ticket system donations — a very fitting choice given the show’s location. Here’s where we’ll be: ➡️ Diving into opportunities for improved efficiency and cost reduction during refits, focusing on real operational data and behavioural improvements. Hear from experts including Cristiane Uhlig Fernandes (Informa Markets), Megan Lagasse (Pier Sixty-Six), and Katherine O’Fallon (Marine Research Hub of South Florida). Join this session from 12:00 - 13:30 on Thursday, 31 October in the Superyacht Village! ➡️Exploring three impactful ocean conservation projects that demonstrate how the sector can support and drive the regeneration of healthy oceans. Join us and Staci Gillingham (Informa Markets), Tony Gilbert (The International SeaKeepers Society) & Samantha Moore. This session will take place from 12:00 - 13:30 on Friday, 1 November in the Superyacht Village! ➡️Highlighting our recently-launched Environmental Crew Guidelines inside the Oasis Lounge to offer captains & crews at the show a practical guide facilitating environmental practices onboard. Our Communications Manager Laurie Foulon will be representing us at the show. To get in touch or arrange a meeting, please reach out to her at laurie@waterrevolutionfoundation.org We hope to see you there! #waterrevolution #flibs #flibs2024 #superyachtindustry #sustainability #environmentalimpact #impactreduction #impact #ecofriendly #crew

Redefining the future of yacht design with the refined Designers’ Protocol… Recently unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show, this document sets new standards for environmentally-conscious yacht design, offering actionable principles and detailed recommendations for every new project. Spearheaded by Dickie Bannenberg of Bannenberg & Rowell Design and co-created with members of our Sustainable Yacht Design Taskforce, the Protocol represents a united industry effort to push environmental sustainability to the forefront - starting from the crucial initial phase of design. With contributions from top yacht designers, naval architects, and industry leaders, it covers nine key areas from energy efficiency to hull colour considerations. We applaud the contributors who are stepping up to ensure that environmental responsibility is at the heart of yacht design: AkzoNobel, Bannenberg & Rowell Design, De Voogt Naval Architects, Espen Oeino International, Eckersley O'Callaghan, RWD, & Viken Group. Special thanks to the wider Taskforce for their support: Dykstra Naval Architects, Guido de Groot Design, Harrison Eidsgaard, Luxury Projects, Teakdecking Systems, Inc., Van Oossanen Naval Architects, Vitruvius Yachts, & Winch Design. Celebrating this World Animal Day by shining a light on the diverse marine mammals enriching the North West Atlantic Ocean... Through the Important Marine Mammal Areas (IMMA) programme, we’re helping fund the identification of critical habitats for marine mammals in the region where they face the most intense human impacts. From minke whales and belugas to harbour porpoises and Amazonian manatees, these creatures are vital to our marine ecosystems – so let’s do our part to protect the areas where they thrive. Have you ever encountered any of these species at sea? Last month, we took part in a webinar hosted by Switzerland for the Oceans diving deep into how IMMA merges science and stewardship, informing international maritime and ocean conservation policies. Stay tuned for details on the next one, coming up November 26! Moving forward on the Regenerative Roadmap at Monaco Yacht Show 2024… Among many highlights at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show S.A.M., we were thrilled to follow up on our Regenerative Approach for Yachting by joining industry leaders onboard Sanlorenzo’s Almax. This gathering built on the momentum of May’s event in the Netherlands, where the first steps were taken to develop a Roadmap to 2050. Attendees witnessed the innovation of Sanlorenzo's 50Steel superyacht, powered by a methanol fuel cell system that converts methanol to hydrogen and then into electrical energy, efficiently delivering cleaner power than conventional diesel generators or main engines without storing hydrogen onboard - a milestone well-aligned with the trajectory of the roadmap for yacht operations. Many thanks to Mr. Massimo Perotti & Sanlorenzo Yacht for graciously hosting this event and showcasing their leadership in pioneering alternative power supply onboard. Their efforts will contribute significantly to understanding the feasibility of implementing these technologies in both new builds and potentially existing yachts. For more insights into the development of our Roadmap to 2050, join our workshop at METSTRADE’s The Superyacht Forum on 19 November from 9:00 - 10:15 CET.
