Wow, it's that time of the month again – and for the last time! In today’s blog, author and journalist Daan Borrel is taking us into the fascinating and often misunderstood world of "The (un)Healthy Vagina" with the final edition of her series on the v*ginal microbiome. Over the past six months, Daan has brought us along a fascinating journey, diving deep into the intricacies of our microbiome. She's discussed how the hidden ecosystem plays a pivotal role in maintaining not just menstrual health, but overall wellness. From understanding how our daily habits can impact the balance of these microorganisms to recognising the signs of an imbalanced microbiome, Daan's series has offered valuable education and insights. Thank you for spending the last six months with us. We hope you’ve enjoyed this series and learned a few things about the vaginal microbiome – we definitely have! We want to be inclusive of all people with periods 🌈 That's why we use non-gendered language to talk about periods and our products. In our latest blog, we discuss why inclusive language in menstrual health matters. Challenging gendered terms like "feminine hygiene" or not only speaking to "women and girls" is essential for businesses to recognise and embrace all the types of people who menstruate. By using inclusive terms like "period care" and "people with periods", we can make sure that no one is left out when we talk about menstrual health. Working with Game Changers like Nanoah Struik (they/them) and Sam Rink (he/him) help us as a brand to understand our customers, rather than speak for them. Both talked to us about their journey with menstruation, focusing on how trans and non-binary people are often excluded from conversations about menstrual health. Allyship is at the heart of our community, having always worked with members of the LGBTQIA+ community to highlight their experiences with menstruation.
