Solid State Chemist

Due to fast growth, the Department of Solid State at the Weert site is looking for an experienced Solid-State Chemist.

This role is a laboratory function in which you will perform form selection studies, crystallization studies, and you will support the research and development teams. In addition, you will perform literature studies and write project updates and reports. We are looking for candidates with a solid-state chemistry background, analytical chemistry background or bio-pharmaceutical background, ready to take on the role as Solid-State Chemist in pre-formulation studies. You will support the discovery, medicinal chemistry, and process research and development of pharmaceutical compounds. You will perform (high-throughput screening) crystallization experiments and apply a set of analytical methods to characterize the different solid forms and ultimately select the optimal API form based on stability, bioavailability, and scalability.

Qualifications

• Either an HBO or master’s degree related to solid-state chemistry or analytical chemistry.
• Knowledge of XRPD, DSC, and TGA measurements is required.
• Experience with LC is required.
• Experience with (high-throughput) crystallization experiments is required.
• Hands on experience in a chemical/pharmaceutical laboratory is required.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
• A good working and quality attitude, results driven, accurate, with an eye for detail and safety.
• A positive team player and share knowledge where necessary.
• Dutch and English fluency (written & verbal).
