👉 Let us introduce you to one of our team members: Sannerien van Aerts 🥐 Sannerien is Dutch but passionate about France and the French culture. She joined Atout France Nederland in January 2021 and is now in charge of the press department. She has a strong love for languages and especially for the French one. She loves the sound and the melody. ‘It’s beautiful’ she often says. 👩🎓 Thus, she decided to study the French language and culture at Leiden University during her bachelor and masters. 🌳 If Sannerien were a destination, she would definitively be Nantes. This city has everything she is looking for, because here, nature and culture come together. To deeply understand Sannerien, you need to be passionate about culture, like her, and especially about Château Rosa Bonheur, near the forest of Fontainebleau. 🏰 Forests are her favourite type of landscape and, like Rosa Bonheur, Sannerien holds a special place in her heart for nature and animals. Sannerien brings the same passion she has for nature into her work. What she cherishes the most are all the unique experiences that she gains through the press trips and events she organizes. She discovered many places and did things she could never imagine doing. These opportunities have taken her to unexpected places and made her push further her limits : skiing, ziplining, rafting, mountain biking, paragliding! ⛷️ 👏 Sannerien’s job is incredibly diverse. Not two days are the same. Through her work, she is always meeting new interesting people, both on the Dutch and on the French side. Above all, she loves working in a bicultural environment, switching between languages, comparing customs and habits, and gaining deeper insights into both cultures. This dynamic environment allows her to continuously grow both personally and professionally. Credit photo @Sonja Jaarsveld

👉 Let us introduce you to one of our team members: Lucie Commissaire! 👩🎓Lucie, who is French, joined Atout France Nederland in October 2023, making her one of our newest members. Hailing from the South of France, she began her studies in Marketing and Communication in Toulon. She then spent a year in Ireland studying Digital Marketing at the Limerick Institute of Technology before completing her master’s at EFAP in Paris. 🌊If Lucie were a destination, she would undoubtedly be the Côte D’Azur – the French Riviera, her home. Born and raised there, this is where she gathered all her childhood memories. The bright sunshine, the distinctive Provence vibe with its lemon trees, and colourful houses are dear to Lucie. The Mediterranean Sea will always be calling her. To truly understand Lucie, you should visit the Fragonard Museum in Grasse. She has lived near Grasse for 20 years and knows this museum by heart. Each perfume has its own story, which might explain why Lucie became a travel enthusiast. Additionally, the artisanal care Fragonard puts into its perfumes resonates with Lucie’s meticulous approach to her work projects. She strives for the same level of precision in everything she does. 👏For example, Lucie played a key role in the promotion campaign of Nice as a winter destination for Dutch travellers in collaboration with Expedia. This project was especially meaningful to her because it showcased her beloved region. Lucie also loves discovering and highlighting other destinations especially through the campaigns she organizes in the Netherlands for French partners. 🚴♀️Since she moved to the Netherlands, Lucie bikes to work every day for 45 minutes, which means she arrives with plenty of energy and good vibes at the office!

🏔️On 3 October, Atout France Nederland and France Montagnes had the pleasure of organising the Dutch commercial launch of the 2023-2024 winter season in France. 18 French mountain villages, resorts, ski schools and hotels were eager to share the many possibilities and new developments of their destination.⛷️ ❄️Dutch customers are the 2nd largest group of international visitors heading to French winter resorts, behind the British and just ahead of the Belgians (winter season 2023-2024). France Montagnes and a delegation of winter resorts first held training sessions with a selection of independent travel agents and tour operator networks. The day was then followed by an afternoon of networking and meetings with 19 representatives of Dutch winter sports tour operators and concluded with a dinner at the warm and cosy Chateau Woerden. Engaging conversations and rich exchanges around new products and inspirations for the coming winter, as well as the production of new offers in the French mountains, were at the heart of this event. ⛰️ 👏Many thanks to France Montagnes and the following partners for their enthusiastic participation and ideas! 🎣Last week, we gathered early on Tuesday morning for an exciting team-building event : cleaning the iconic canals of Amsterdam in collaboration with Plastic Whale. Their mission is to raise awareness around the plastic soup problem and to inspire others to take action for plastic free land & sea.🌊 After introducing the issue of plastic waste as a growing global problem, we split into two groups and board boats made entirely from recycled plastic. 🛶The competition to see which team can fish out the most trash from the canals officially begins. 🪣Equipped with nets and tongs, we catch plastic bottles, bags and many other items that end up in the water, either thrown or accidentally dropped. Those waste would usually end up in the ocean enlarging the plastic soup, also known as the 6th continent in the Pacific Ocean.🌍 Together, here's what was gathered: 1 green bag filled with PET bottles. 1 yellow bag filled with CANS 2 trash bags of general waste. 2 garbage bags of other plastics. 4 pieces of glass. The plastic that we fished out the water will be recycled by the company and transformed into office furniture and other objects such as skateboard.🛹 Amsterdam is now a little cleaner ! 👏Thanks a lot to Plastic Whale for this experience and to the entire Atout France Nederland team for their hard work! #Teambuilding #CSR #Communityserviceday

🏛️Culture and heritage in France: rich and famous On the 26th of September, Atout France Nederland organised a press event at Winkel van Sinkel in Utrecht. The special theme this time was “Culture and heritage in France”. 🏰Picturesque villages, beautiful castles from different centuries, impressive abbeys and churches… these are only a few examples of the cultural offer that France is proud to share with visitors from all over the world. The country is so rich when it comes to culture and heritage, you almost stumble over the historical monuments and the numerous museums. 🖌️ 👉From deep caves to hilltop villages (“villages perchés”), from prehistoric sites to street art and daring architecture: the diversity is huge. And let’s not forget the craftsmen and -women who are still preserving traditional knowhow until this day or all the festivals (dance, theatre, music, art…) that one can enjoy. In other words: plenty to discover! To give a taste of what is awaiting the Dutch media in France, eight French partners came to Utrecht to promote their destination – a region, a department or city – and inform the journalists and bloggers about their cultural offer. The networking event also allowed the partners to show what makes their destination so unique and definitely worth a visit. Whether a journalist was focused on culture and lifestyle lovers, families, seniors, cycling and camping enthusiasts or people who want to travel by train: there is something interesting for everyone.🚵♂️🏕️ 👏We want to thank wholeheartedly our French partners for participating in our press event ‘Culture & Heritage in France’ to meet up with journalists and bloggers in the Netherlands. We are certain that your enthusiasm and passion left the Dutch media inspired with new ideas for future travels and articles! #ExploreFrance #culture #cultuur #erfgoed #heritage Office de Tourisme d'Aix-en-Provence | Dijon Bourgogne Tourisme & Congrès | Dordogne Périgord Tourisme | Agence Régionale du Tourisme Grand Est [ART GE] | Hauts-de-France Tourisme | Destination Orléans Val de Loire | Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc Tourisme | Office eurométropolitain de tourisme, des loisirs et des congrès de Strasbourg Fabienne Javault | Catherine Oden | Sannerien van Aerts | Lydia Beerens | Clotilde Bordier

👉✨Discover the Loire region 🏰 Castles, landscapes and art of living: discovering the Loire region by bike Atout France Nederland and four journalists recently travelled to France to start an exciting cycling adventure: trying out several stages of the cycle route ‘La Loire à Vélo’, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year. On the programme: 200 kilometres by bike; a great way to discover the many assets along the river! 🚵♀️ 🏙️The trip started off in Orléans, the city of Jeanne d’Arc, where the group enjoyed a city walk and a river cruise aboard a traditional Loire boat. In addition, the group took a ride to the village of Combleux; a great way to test the bicycles before the real tour started! In an area known for its many magnificent castles, it is of course a must to visit a few of them. On the programme were therefore a visit to the Château of Meung-sur-Loire, the royal Château de Blois, the Château d’Oudon and, of course, the imposing Château de Chambord. 🚗The group also had the unique opportunity to take a jeep ride through the enclosed forest of Chambord, where they spotted deer and wild boars. Over the following days, many more charming spots were discovered, including the delightful village of St Florent le Vieil and Béhuard island, which has a spot on the UNESCO world heritage list. And of course there was time for a wine tasting in Savennières.🍷🍇 The cycling trip eventually ended in the vibrant city of Nantes, where the group could get a taste of the art trail Le Voyage à Nantes and admire the old city centre. Afterwards, it was already time to catch the train back to the Netherlands, looking back on many kilometers and great memories! 🚅 👏Many thanks to all our French partners for organising this amazing press trip along the Loire! 🚵 La Loire à Vélo Comité Régional du Tourisme Centre-Val de Loire Région Pays de la Loire Tourisme Loiret - Agence de développement et de réservation touristiques du Loiret ADT Val de Loire - Loir-et-Cher Anjou Tourisme Lydia Beerens
