“Nauta quo vadis?” seems to be the only question that can always be asked of a skipper entering a new port, since the dawn of time. There is no doubt that the navigation experience ends when the boat is moored, just as, statistically in terms of frequency and value, the most reported damage to things and people occurs during the maneuvering phase when entering the port, essentially due to bad communication or lack of (preventive) preparation of the skipper or crew. DockingMap is part of this critical phase of the navigation experience, allowing the Port to provide the skipper in advance with all the information necessary to prepare for the manoeuvre, including the route from the entrance to the Marina - or the canal to follow to get to the Marina - up to to the assigned mooring, including the maneuvering spaces in front of it. “Nauta quo vadis?” sembra essere l’unica domanda che possa essere fatta, da sempre, ad uno skipper che entra in un nuovo porto, fin dalla notte dei tempi. Non c’è dubbio che l’esperienza di navigazione finisce quando la barca è ormeggiata, così come, statisticamente per frequenza e valore, i danni più rilevati a cose e persone avvengono proprio in fase di manovra entrando in porto, essenzialmente per la cattiva comunicazione o la mancata preparazione (preventiva) dello skipper o dell’equipaggio.
