The financial impacts of climate and nature-related risks are becoming undeniable. 🇳🇴 – 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆 is set to implement #CBAM by 2027. Yesterday, major industry players gathered at Norwegian Environment Agency for an information and input meeting on Norway’s CBAM strategy. Our colleagues David Cruz and Konstantin Heim attended to gain key insights into the next steps and industry expectations.    📢 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 :    ▪️ Miljødirektoratet will oversee enforcement, reporting, and industry guidance.  ▪️ Skatteetaten will manage CBAM declarant authorization, while Tolletaten will play a role in implementation.    💡 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, but key concerns remain:    ▪️ 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗽 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 remains a major issue, questioning CBAM’s effectiveness.  ▪️ 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀 (e.g., indirect emissions, export mechanisms) need to be addressed.  ▪️ 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆’𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 means businesses face costs from 2026, even though certificate trading starts in 2027, a shared industry concern.    📅 What’s next?    ✔️ CBAM law in Norway is expected in 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 2026  ✔️ Importers will need authorization, requiring an EORI number.  ✔️ CBAM registry must connect to the EU system.      At CEMAsys.com, we ensure that businesses stay ahead of the regulations in this evolving landscape.    #Norway #Carbon #Trade #EU #ETS
