Today on World Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) Day, learn how the new DHIS2 NTD Module supports efforts to prevent, control, and eliminate or eradicate more than 30 diseases and disease groups. The DHIS2 NTD overarching module provides a robust digital framework for routine reporting on NTDs within national health management information systems (HMIS). Built on World Health Organization guidelines and reporting standards, it supports the collection of standardized data across 30+ diseases while allowing for localization to align with specific country needs. By facilitating integration with existing health systems, it enables efficient monitoring, control, and elimination efforts. The module also aids progress tracking towards the WHO 2021-2030 roadmap goals, targeting significant reductions in NTD-related morbidity and interventions. NEWS: Niger beats a major meningitis outbreak with DHIS2 and a new vaccine. Niger's Ministry of Health deployed DHIS2 for intra-campaign monitoring during a reactive vaccination campaign in July, with 1,444 teams vaccinating 1,805,390 people in three regions. “With the monitoring of the second campaign, we met every morning to go over the DHIS2 monitoring results. It was remarkable to see the difference in the ease of monitoring. We could see which teams were supervised and the common issues observed during the previous day. This led us to respond to the needs and quickly correct course when necessary.” – Kalidou Moussa, National supervisor in Agadez region Read More: https://buff.ly/3WqugqL World Health Organization #DHIS2 #OpenSource #DigitalPublicGoods

Today we wrap up the #DHIS2AndHISP Series with... 👐 Part 6: SHARE While the HISP approach is heavily tied to the local needs of country-level connections, a key result of our exploration of real-world problems and developing solutions in a local context is transforming the generic elements of those solutions into globally shared tools, and facilitating local innovation and adaptation with those tools in other countries, including the sharing of locally developed DHIS2 applications and design approaches. HISP facilitates the sharing of DHIS2 innovations and best practices in a number of ways. Custom DHIS2 applications can be shared through the DHIS2 App Hub, where they are available for use worldwide. The HISP Centre at University of Oslo coordinates the DHIS2 Community of Practice, an online forum with more than 10,000 members where DHIS2 experts from around the world share experiences and best practices. DHIS2 community members can also connect and share in person through regional DHIS2 Academies and conferences hosted by HISP groups, and as the DHIS2 Annual Conference hosted by HISP UiO, which offers an opportunity to share local work with a global audience.
