Om oss
Welcome to follow the journey of our project: Empowerneurship for Newcomers in Europe (ENEU)! The purpose of this project is to make Self-employment a viable option for migrants and displaced people in transition in Europe and also for those who wish to return to their country of origin. • General effect: Increasing learning demand among both educators and migrants through effective outreach, guidance, and motivation strategies. • Direct effect: Extending and developing the competencies of educators and other personnel who support adult learners. They will learn the required skills to support the migrants and displaced people through their journey of becoming entrepreneurs and self-sustained. • Ripple effect: Empowering and skilling up the migrants and the displaced people themselves towards becoming the sources of entrepreneurship training for others in their communities. This will be achieved by training the trainers in order to use the entrepreneurial tools and modules developed by the partners. The learning process will be developed by introducing and implementing a new methodology: @Home in Transition. The use of digital devices and also face-to-face training/interaction with a trainer/mentor (in person or digital) will complete the objectives to be achieved. Our Target groups are: • The educators and other personnel who support adult learners with migration background accessed through the institutions they work for or collaborate with as freelancers. • Migrants and adult displaced populations coming to European countries as well as the ones returning to their country of origin. • Poverty and conflict-affected citizens. Our partners are: • Oslo International Hub AS – Norway • Systemically Designed– Norway PRISM – Italy • GLOCAL FACTORY – Italy • AKEP – Greece • SYNTHESIS – Cyprus • BEST – Austria

LTTA Oslo, 3-4th Of September Conclusions 🌟 The project partners have created an analysis summary of the most relevant outcomes of the LTTA Oslo event. The analysis of the different training contexts for migrants highlights key common themes, despite variations in local circumstances in each partner country of the project. In general, preparing migrants for the labour market and entrepreneurial integration requires a tailored approach, focused on creating safe learning environments, individual empowerment, and flexibility in training methods. Key themes from the group activities during the event: 🔹Safe learning environments: creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment is crucial. This is achieved through cultural sensitivity, awareness of migrants' past experiences, and respect for their specific needs, such as confidentiality, mutual respect, and empathy. The aim is to make participants feel free to express themselves and be engaged in the training process. 🔹Individual assessment: before training begins, an individual evaluation is essential to understand participants' needs and challenges. Personal connections with social workers or trainers help identify individual barriers, allowing for more effective and targeted training. 🔹Flexibility of the approach: the training materials must be adapted to the individual circumstances and experiences of migrants. Flexibility is key, both in content structure and delivery methods, using practical tools like workshops, hands-on activities, and informal methods. 🔹Entrepreneurship: entrepreneurship is a viable option for many migrants, primarily when supported by tailored training programs that include three phases: theoretical training, pre-incubation, and incubation. These programs help migrants develop business plans, acquire practical skills, and understand local laws and regulations. 🔹Empowerment and skill recognition: It is essential to help migrants recognise and value their often underestimated skills. Providing concrete examples (through role models and supported programs) and support in translating these abilities into the professional context builds confidence and a sense of belonging. Conclusions: The effectiveness of migrant training using train-the-trainer manuals 1 and 2 depends on creating inclusive environments, understanding the migrants' individual experiences, and adapting training methods to group needs by well-experienced and skilled trainers, educators, and social workers. Structured programs combining practical guidance, entrepreneurial support, and the recognition of existing skills are essential. Let’s hear from Clara vom Scheidt about her migration and entrepreneurship journey. In March 2024, ENEU partners conducted interviews with immigrant trainers. Let's hear from Clara Vom Scheidt, one of these inspiring individuals based in Norway. Desinova Studios had the pleasure of interviewing Clara who shared her invaluable insights and story. Clara grew up in Nuremberg, Germany, and lived in various places across the country. Her first visit to Oslo was in 2019 as an exchange student in her master’s program, "Geography of Global Change." She fell in love with the place and the community. After returning to Germany during COVID for three years, where she completed her master’s thesis and worked at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), Clara also pursued certifications in Change Management and Horse-Assisted Systemic Coaching. Although initially drawn to Latin America, the quality of courses at Oslo’s Centre for Development and Environment motivated her to come to Oslo. As an exchange student, she was enthusiastic about her classes and felt at home within the community at SUM. When Clara returned to Oslo in April 2023 to work as a self-employed coach and facilitator, she faced challenges in navigating the local organizational landscape and building trust. Clara credits several networks for their invaluable support over the past year: SoCentral: A co-working space and hub for changemakers in Sentralen. Clara found inspiration, support, and a sense of home here. Sammen om en jobb (SAOJ): This network assists highly qualified newcomers in entering the Oslo job market. Clara benefited from excellent workshops and the support of Ndey Jobarteh and mentor Jessica Coa. Impact StartUp Norge: Clara attended free workshops that helped her understand ethical approaches to sales. Women and Climate Network: A welcoming group of women and non-binary individuals in Oslo passionate about climate change. The network provided Clara with inspiring conversations and new contacts. Clara also expressed gratitude to ENFA - Euro Nordic Funding Alliance and Desinova Studios by Niloufar Gharavi for collaborating on a workshop on mental health for #Ukrainians in Oslo. She believes that enthusiasm and patience are crucial for building relationships and growing organically into the system. Clara emphasizes the importance of maintaining good practices like sports and music to stay motivated. Clara's story is a testament to the power of community, support, and perseverance in achieving one's goals! 🌟🙌 Read more about the ENEU project here 👉 eneuerasmus.com #CoFundedByTheEuropeanUnion #Empowerment #Inclusion #trainingmatters PRISM Impresa Sociale s.r.l.
