The giant Johan Castberg floating production, storage and offloading installation (FPSO) is now on its way to the field in the Barents Sea, a journey of close to 1000 nautical miles from the Norwegian west coast.  The Johan Castberg field development helps strengthen Norway’s role as a reliable and long-term energy supplier.  The field will create great value for society, ripple effects and jobs for 30 years to come, and 82% of the field’s revenues will go to the Norwegian state.

Earlier this week, I welcomed 161 new apprentices to Equinor. It was so inspiring to meet and talk with them, hear their stories, and understand why they have chosen to join our company. At Equinor, we recognise the important role that skilled energy industry workers are fulfilling in meeting the energy demands of today and creating innovative solutions for the future. Our new apprentices come from different backgrounds and bring fresh perspectives, which we highly value and which will enrich our teams. 40% of this years’ apprentices are women, and this is also an important contribution to diversity. The two-year training programme presents the apprentices with immediate opportunities to gain experience and work alongside us, mostly on our onshore plants and offshore installations. We will provide them with access to hands-on experience, mentorship, skills development, and training to equip them with the tools they need to succeed. And they will bring their new ideas and thinking to the table. We are delighted to have these enthusiastic and energetic colleagues on board and extend a warm welcome to them. I am excited to see what we will achieve together and the energy they will bring to our workplace.

Do you want to work in Equinor? One of the favorite parts of my job is to meet people that work in Equinor. I have 23 000 Equinor colleagues around the world. They are of course all different. But I am also often struck by what they have common. The drive, the direction, the dedication. Their will to look for solutions and improvements to our business. Our people are our most important resource. They are the catalysts for the energy we produce and the drivers of industry progress.   Equinor was recently awarded Norway’s Top 1, Top 2 and Top 3 most attractive employer among students within engineering, business and technology, respectively, by Universum. I am proud to learn that future talent believes in what we do and want to take part in our journey. Today, we have opened for applications for our Graduate programme in Equinor. Whether you are studying disciplines such as engineering, technology, sciences, digital, or corporate and business management, the chances are we will have an opportunity that would suit your education and experience. Check our graduates page on equinor.com to learn more or to apply. Or tip someone that you think may be interested. https://lnkd.in/dBm48PJT

OUR QUARTERLY RESULTS Today, we present our results for the second quarter of 2024. The quarter is marked by strong operations and a 3% production growth. Our financial results are solid, and we continue to deliver competitive capital distribution to our shareholders. We made important strategic progress. To mention a few examples: -         By swapping assets both on the NCS and onshore in the US we continue to optimise our oil and gas portfolio. -         We took important steps on our energy transition by adding a total potential storage capacity of 17 million tons to our CCS portfolio. This quarter, I want to highlight our safety results, especially within our projects, procurement and drilling organisation. Their work is performed all over the world with many different suppliers and often in demanding operational conditions. In total, the employees in Equinor and our suppliers in this part of the business worked 21 million hours this quarter, with only one registered incident that could potentially have resulted in a serious injury. That is remarkable. Our employees and suppliers work hard every day to share lessons learned and improve safety culture. I want to thank them for their efforts. We keep on working to improve, to learn, and search for better. We must never forget that behind these numbers there are incidents and accidents we wish had not happened. Our priority is clear – everyone working for Equinor, both our own employees and our suppliers, shall return safely home from work, every day. If you want to take a deep dive into our quarterly results and get updated on our strategic progress, check out this presentation or go to equinor.com for all details.

In the spring of 2023 Westcon Helgeland in northern Norway was awarded a large contract to build subsea structures for our new Irpa field in the Norwegian Sea. The contract was awarded by Equinor’s main contractor, TechnipFMC 🤝 Since then, more contracts have been awarded to the yard in Nesna, which have grown significantly - both in size and numbers.  Irpa is a NOK 14.8 billion (2022) investment. The field will be developed with three wells in a template tied back to Aasta Hansteen by a 78-kilometre swaged pipe in pipe, MEG pipeline and umbilical. Equinor alongside SSE Renewables have announced that the fourth phase of the world’s largest offshore wind farm Dogger Bank will unlock additional green power 🤝 Commercial terms have been established with The Crown Estate in the UK to enable Dogger Bank D to progress, under an amendment to the existing seabed lease, subject to the final outcome of a ‘Plan-Level Habitats Regulations Assessment’ (HRA).    The proposed fourth phase of the Dogger Bank Wind Farm will unlock up to 2GW of additional energy capacity from the wind farm’s existing seabed area. With the first three phases of the wind farm already set to power the equivalent of 6 million UK homes, this increased capacity will further accelerate the UK’s energy transition. ⚡ Read more 👉 https://t.ly/g7NDW
