Newton Partner Summit 2024 🌍 This week, we had the pleasure of hosting the annual Newton Partner Summit here in #Bodø. Newton Teachers and partners from Turkey, Lithuania, Scotland, Germany, the Netherlands, Greece, Italy, Norway, and Croatia were in attendance. Together, we worked on the concept and expanded the Newton family, to shape the future of education. A big thank you to everyone who participated and made these three days unforgettable in our hometown! The first six months of 2024 have been extraordinary for FIRST Scandinavia In May, we hosted the FIRST LEGO League World Finals and the Open European Championships in our hometown of #Bodø. The Mobile Newton Room made its inaugural visit to England, and in May we had a STEM Week at the Aviato Academy in Brussels. Additionally, two new Newton Rooms opened in Ludbreg, Croatia, one in Rome, Italy and one in South Yorkshire, England Just 12 days ago, we celebrated the opening of Newton Flight Academy Brandenburg in Germany together with Center for Hybrid Electric Systems Cottbus (chesco) and Boeing. Furthermore, we conducted various courses and meetings with our educators and project managers involved in Newton and FIRST LEGO League. Several new Newton modules were launched, expanding our network further. All these efforts aim to enrich the STEM learning experiences of children and youths. Science and technology are key to addressing many of today's and tomorrow's challenges. At FIRST Scandinavia, we engage young people in these fields, equipping them with the knowledge and creativity needed to face these challenges. Our mission is to provide children and youths with inspiring learning experiences in STEM. Yesterday, Newton Rome officially opened at Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, one of Europe's largest airports. After many months of hard work together with Aeroporti di Roma and Boeing, we are proud to bring the joy of mastering STEM education to Italian children through our innovative concept. "We need to ensure the quality of tomorrow's workforce and allow them to see the connection between theory and real-life from an early age. We need a tool to motivate all students to see this link, and the Newton Concept is precisely such a tool," said CEO and Founder Per-Arild Konradsen in his speech yesterday. And... it's a wrap! The OEC Bodø 2024 has officially concluded! It's all about empowering children and youth from across the globe to excel in science through unparalleled learning experiences. Throughout these days, we've seen countless new friendships bloom across different countries and cultures, with Bodø providing an exceptionally warm welcome! A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed: participants, mentors, judges, field judges, and the enthusiastic young volunteers from local schools.
