We need to talk more Our most important and defining source of meaning is our social relationships. Yet, research shows that 44% of people in Norway struggle with loneliness. That's nearly half of the population. Experiencing that we matter to others is crucial for living a meaningful life. Still, many of us find it hard to make time to check in on each other in our busy daily lives. We spend 8 hours a day at work, which accounts for 1/3 of a day. Most of us go to a workplace where we meet colleagues and friends we care about. Even though much of modern work life is centered around hybrid solutions and technological operations, the workplace remains one of the most important arenas for interaction and communication. To overcome tomorrow’s work challenges, we depend on good internal flow, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and a sense of community among colleagues. If social relationships are not nurtured, the likelihood of increased innovation in the company will likely decrease. It’s not hard to set aside time for a short chat, whether at work or in private. But maybe we need to clear space in our schedules to focus on truly meaningful tasks. We need to talk more, in general. So today, we encourage you to give 8 minutes to someone close to you. Yesterday, Fora Forms Copenhagen Chair, designed by Lars Tornøe, finally reached its intended home; the Norwegian Ambassador's residence in Copenhagen, almost twenty years after it was designed as Lars’ master thesis. 🙌 "It's cool that the chair is finally going to the embassy residence. After all, it is the building it was intended for. I look forward to sharing the story," says Lars Tornøe Tornøe in a statement. 🏡 The Federation for Norwegian Industries event in Copenhagen set up the event to show Danish press, tastemakers, and market influencers the best designs from the brotherland. The renowned stylist kirsten visdal had curated the residence. 🙌 Our recent launch, the BUD chair designed by Skogstad&Wærnes was also on display. Also on display was the updated ROOT table designed by Runa Klock with the new tabletop made of recycled yogurt puts and refrigerators from Smile Plastics ♻️ Great examples of how Fora Form views sustainability as caring for both the environment as well as people with human-centric designs. From wicker furniture production to becoming a leading Norwegian furniture manufacturer for the contract market – here are 5 facts you might not know about Fora Form: 📜 Fora Form was established in 1929 (then known as Møre Kurvmøbelfabrikk AS). In other words, we've been making furniture for nearly 100 years! Since then, we've been registered under both Møre Kurvmøbelfabrikk AS and Møre møbler AS, before changing our name to Fora Form in 1997! 🪑While many might think that Møre møbler (Møre furniture) was a more descriptive name for the company, Fora Form actually better reflects what we do. We create forums through form – and that's how we became Fora Form! 🏆 We are Norway’s most-awarded design company, with over 50 awards! Just in 2024, we’ve won two design awards: Atrium won "Product of the Year" at the Norwegian Design Industry Conference, and Senso won the German Design Award for Senso Frame! We’re, of course, very proud of that! 🏭 We have a factory on Norway’s beautiful west coast – specifically in Ørsta!
