The purpose of HEITSA is to promote and advance the use and support of computing. HEITSA strives to promote professional skills and conduct in university ICT management and to serve as unitary voice for the South African Higher Education IT profession. HEITSA also provides mutual support mechanisms to its participating members by encouraging the development and application of standards and best practices through the sharing of expertise among members and colleagues in organising informative events.

We were privileged to have leading vendors present their cutting-edge ERP solutions: Oracle, SIS Global, Academia by Serosoft, @Anthology The vendor presentations provided our participants with a comprehensive view of the latest advancements and opportunities in ERP systems. We want to congratulate our Chairman Dr Mpofu Stanley Mgobansimbi (PhD Wits) who has recently been added on the "Top 100 IT Leaders" by the Global CIO Community. We celebrate this milestone with you and appreciate all the work you do for HEITSA.
The Global CIO community is delighted to welcome Dr Mpofu Stanley Mgobansimbi, the new member of the "Top 100 IT Leaders" list! Dr. Mpofu, an alumnus of the University of the Witwatersrand, currently serves as the CIO at his alma mater. With a 29-year career, he is a disciplined, influential, and visionary IT executive known for his ethical leadership and exceptional delivery. His expertise has been proven in challenging environments at Eskom Enterprises and Wits University. Dr. Mpofu has successfully implemented an R500m network upgrade project at Wits University and developed a comprehensive digital strategy, including cloud, cyber, and mobile initiatives, culminating in the innovative smart classroom project.
