On Wednesday, Peter and Klaus attended the NCE Aquatech Cluster’s Autumn member conference. It was a great opportunity to meet players from the same industry. Klaus gave a presentation titled 'Reincarnation from Stranda Prolog to Hoseth Technology.' An engaged Klaus shared the story of Hoseth Technology, from our history to development and thoughts about the future.

Hoseth Technology's Prolog tanks are in some cases an efficient and elegant alternative to Helix tanks for cooling and storage. This applies when the units are only filled and emptied 1-2 times per day and are not part of a continuous process. Furthermore, the Prolog tanks can be placed outdoors and you can therefore save large construction costs. Since the Prolog tanks are part of a closed system system, automatic washing of both the tanks and the pipe system from a central CIP is planned. The principle for filling and emptying the tanks makes the system independent of heights in the plant. When a tank is fully loaded it contains 2/3 fish and 1/3 water, circulated via a RSW or slurry ice solution. Cooling and thereby the fish quality i optimized using a sophisticated circulation pattern that also prevents squeezing of fish near the bottom of the tank. Fish are being loaded into the tank using under pressure and water circulation from a hopper tank where fish are made available. Offloading is done by using over pressure and water circulation to a dewatering unit where the fish are to be delivered.

A Hoseth Technology HeliX tank is a very advanced machine that ensures good control and flow, very efficient cooling, good extraction and quality of the fish. The fish encounters the cleanest and coldest water just before it leaves the tank. We supply Helix tanks for a wide range of capacities, and with a number of additional functions. The side loader let you control number of fish to go into each chamber and residence time in the tank. Our management system StraQS ensures that the raw material reaches where it is needed when it is needed. Bubbling increases cold water exposure for the fish in the tank for better total and individual cooling. You can both use RSW and slurry ice as cooling medium in a HeliX tank.

HeliX Battery is used to store and cool fish coming from bleeding department or harvest boat. A HeliX battery can be dimensioned to receive all fish from a well boat/harvest vessel for quick unloading and thereby allow the vessel to leave to get more fish. This way the gutting department can get fish from the HeliX battery as they need for the rest of the day. A HeliX battery may also be used for maintenance cooling and buffer for fish going to filleting or as maturation tank before post rigor fileting. Our Matrix cooling system for several Helix tanks distributes cooling effect specifically to where it is needed and saves energy and water.

On Tuesday, there was a career day in Kristiansund, and 500 tenth graders came by to talk to and learn about the local companies in Kristiansund and Nordmøre. It was incredibly fun to showcase some of the technology we offer and deliver both domestically and internationally. If you look at the picture, you might see a video feed from our AI smart camera, which the students found very exciting. We hope that we have helped to create more curiosity and enthusiasm around job opportunities here in Kristiansund. Youth are absolutely crucial for future growth and development, and we are happy for every opportunity to inspire them.
