A Brazilian living on an island close to the North Pole? 🇧🇷❄️ At the Radisson Blu Polar Hotel, people from all over the world come together to create a unique community in the Arctic. One of them is Camila, who moved to Svalbard four years ago. “I came here with my husband, who works as a geologist studying the Arctic. It was a big change from Brazil, but an exciting one,” she says. While many are drawn to Svalbard for its endless outdoor adventures, Camila admits she’s more of a town person. “I enjoy the view of the snowy mountains, but what I appreciate most is the town itself. And, surprisingly, the food scene here is really good!” With over 20 different nationalities working together at the world’s northernmost hotel, diversity is at the heart of what we do. Originally from Spain, she moved to Norway in 2011, built a life with her family of four (plus a dog!), and recently embraced a new adventure in Svalbard. Leading in the Arctic takes resilience, adaptability, and courage — qualities Ruth embodies every day. We’re proud to have Ruth and strong women shaping our team and pushing boundaries. Here’s to all the women making an impact—today and every day! 🤩

Happy International Polar Bear Day! 🐻❄️ Today we are celebrating the king of the north in the hotels and have gathered all our Polar Bear items to promote to our guests and tell them more about our majestic friend! Fun fact, polar bear cookies and many souvenirs. Living on Svalbard we are always on alert and we prioritize safety, both for humans and polar bears. Polar Bear Day was created in 1994 by the non-profit organisation Polar Bear International to raise awareness of the plight of polar bears. The day was founded to coincide with the period when polar bear moms and cubs are snug in their dens.

We are recertified 🥳 After three years of dedication and teamwork, we are incredibly proud to share that we have successfully renewed our ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications! 🎉 Last week’s audit showed great results, with only three minor deviations — each easily resolved — we can proudly celebrate this achievement. But what does this really mean for us? ✅ ISO 9001 helps us ensure the highest standards in how we work, constantly improving to give the best experience. ✅ ISO 14001 is all about our responsibility to protect the Arctic environment we call home. The auditor highlighted our positive development since his first visit in 2022, reinforcing that we’re on the right path. But let’s be clear: these certifications are not the finish line.
