Nothing like the perfect project (and shot) to wrap up the week! IK Subsea never misses. 🤩    When the client approached the IK Subsea team, they knew it wouldn't be an easy task—and that's exactly why they wanted to be on board. The project involved the repair of a 26-inch conductor in the North Sea, with the connector located approximately 7 meters above sea level.   The issue? A defective connection with compromised structural integrity and sealing function. As you can see, it was situated in a hard-to-reach area, so collaboration with the rope access technicians who installed it was crucial to the project's success. This is the type of challenge that our IK Subsea team thrives on. Complex but never impossible. At least not for them! 😉   Great teamwork, as always, made it all possible. Last week, our IK Subsea team made it to the most easterly point in North America—St. John’s, the capital of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. ✈️ Geir Egil Møller Olsen, IK Subsea Sales Director and Christian Knutsen, IK Subsea Technical Manager, had a packed and productive week, meeting with Suncor, Cenovus Energy, Frontier Subsea, and the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board. This trip was a fantastic opportunity to showcase IK Subsea’s expertise in delivering custom engineering solutions to tackle some of the subsea industry’s toughest challenges while diving deeper into key industry topics. There's no better way to end the week than by sharing a success story that showcases our team's hard work! 🤩 Recently, during the rundown phase of the 2024 shutdown at a gas processing plant, our IK Topside team faced the challenge of establishing new drain points for several propane lines. Ensuring the effective shutdown and gas-freeing of the systems was critical, especially as liquid accumulated at low points within the system, complicating the preparation process. As always, the IK Topside team rose to the challenge. They engineered and fabricated six specialized hot tap clamps, each designed for specific applications within the facility. Given the extremely low temperatures, they also deployed Low-Temperature Drilling Equipment to maintain safety and efficiency under harsh conditions. IK Topside's expertise in hot tapping and low-temperature drilling ensured that the shutdown and gas-freeing operations were completed both efficiently and safely. This project highlights IK Topside's capability to deliver tailored, high-precision engineering solutions in challenging conditions and exemplifies what defines IK Group's brilliant engineering.
