We had a great time at The Offshore Northern Seas Conference - ONS last week, where we explored technologies that are transforming the energy sector. 🌊 Our spotlight was on satellite technology and its role in near real-time monitoring: ✔ Operational Efficiency: Continuous monitoring of oil rigs, pipelines, vessels, and infrastructure ensures rapid anomaly detection and reduced downtime. ✔ Safety & Security: Satellite data helps identify risks early, enhancing asset and personnel safety. ✔ Environmental Protection: Real-time monitoring enables swift responses to environmental threats, reducing impact. ✔ Cost Savings: Satellites allow for efficient monitoring of remote areas without extensive on-ground resources. We are enganged in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Ensuring that a skilled workforce is prepared to tackle future challenges is crucial, which is why promoting education and careers in STEM is a central focus for us. It's vital for us to inspire young people to pursue these subjects in school and later at the university level. We have partnered with Nasjonalt senter for realfagsrekruttering - The National Centre for STEM-recruitment in Norway to work more systematically with recruiting and inspiring young people. The STEM Partner program is a strategic initiative aimed at fostering long-term recruitment in the field. 👨💻 – There are many excellent initiatives designed to attract young people to technology and science, but it is essential to encourage a more diverse range of students to enter these fields. Connecting technology with creativity, innovation, and diversity is key to advancing forward, EVP Sustainability, Communication and Public relations, Maja-Stina Ekstedt, says. #STEMEducation #WomenInSTEM #TechEd

First contact and LEOP of Arctic Weather Satellite successfully completed! 🛰️ Tromsø Satellite Operation Centre Manager, Eivind Kristoffersen de Badts (first photo) gives his official thumbs up on the Launch and Early Orbit Phase success of the European Space Agency - ESA Arctic Weather Satellite mission. First contact was established and all systems are performing as expected. Our SatOps Team is in control of the spacecraft and celebrating the historical milestone for KSAT. 🎉 Rewinding 56 years to May 17, 1968: Our Launch Control made first contact with the ESRO-2B satellite, belonging to the European Space Research Organisation. The now historical thumbs up was given by Station Manager Dagfinn Leiulfsrud. Both milestones and all the years of proficiency in between, show us that passion and dedication can take us to the Moon and Beyond. #WeConnectSpaceAndEarth
