Sikkerhetsfestivalen 2024 is a wrap. We had 1 booth, 5 presentations, 16 mnemonicans present, 75 runners at the mnemonic Running Club, and served over 300 (!) waffles in celebration of 30 years of the Lillehammer Olympics. The waffle iron was working non-stop and certainly deserves the gold medal 🥇 Thanks to everyone involved in organising and making this year’s festival another success. We’re already looking forward to the next one! #mnemonicRunningClub

It’s time for the celebratory 100th episode of the mnemonic security podcast! For this special occasion, Robby James Peralta invited no one other than popular author and industry legend - Jon DiMaggio. Jon is the Chief Security Strategist at Analyst1 and has over 15 years of experience hunting, researching, and writing about advanced cyber threats. He is the author of “The Ransomware Diaries” and “The Art of Cyberwarfare”. He has gone as far as to develop relationships with some of the world’s most notorious ransomware gangs, like LockBit, and exposed the interworkings of cartels behind major ransomware attacks. Listen to the episode and discover more about how Jon builds relationships with cybercriminals to gather intelligence, how he navigates the ethical dilemmas and personal risks, and what he truly thinks about “the bad guys”. https://lnkd.in/eMfihZKw #mnemonicsecuritypodcast

Join our presentation ‘Secure code from start - a journey through security training for developers’ at Sikkerhetsfestivalen! Nora Bodin, Cybersecurity Consultant at #mnemonic: “Research shows that developers experience a responsibility for the security in the code they are writing. We also introduce more and more security tools in our development processes. However, we still develop software with known vulnerabilities over and over again, so what is the problem? In this presentation, I will introduce some structural problems related to security training of developers and the way automatic tools often are used” More info about this session: https://lnkd.in/d3f2vBDg Join us here, and at our other sessions at #Sikkerhetsfestivalen. Join our presentation ‘Unboxing the black box: Vulnerabilities and incident handling in ‘appliances’’ at Sikkerhetsfestivalen! Over the past year, a large number of critical vulnerabilities have been uncovered in so-called ‘appliances’, and we see that threat actors are increasingly targeting this type of product. This includes both targeted attacks and opportunistic mass exploitation of vulnerabilities. In this talk we will discuss our experiences with vulnerabilities and incident handling in appliances to shed light on the issue from both an attacker and defender perspective. Both mnemonicans Tor E. Bjørstad, Principal security consultant, and Kristoffer Svensen Solberg, Security Consultant, will take the stage to go into the details.
