Let's start at Zero. The annual conference held by Miljøstiftelsen ZERO in Oslo is fast approaching, and we eagerly anticipate Sarah Brown's deep dive into Ember's European Electricity Review 2024. As a company dedicated to accelerating the energy transition, we are keenly aware of the significant progress highlighted by Ember regarding Europe's shift from fossil fuels to clean electricity. This includes: 🛢️19%: A record decline in fossil fuel generation and CO2 emissions. 🌱44%: A record share of renewables in the EU electricity mix, surpassing 40% for the first time. 🌬️55 TWh: A record annual growth in wind generation, which has now exceeded gas for the first time. #Nordbatt 2024 - an industry charging station🔋 We’re feeling energised after meeting fellow battery enthusiasts and delving into the latest research from top Nordic institutions. Our R&D Manager Adriana Navarro-Suárez, Ph.D. shares her excitement: “NordBatt 2024 highlighted the commitment from the Nordic countries to innovation and development of more sustainable batteries. I was inspired by the innovative solutions being developed by so many actors from academia, research institutions, and industry. As a personal note, I was really happy to see how socially diverse the event was!” Halvor Høen Hval, Research Scientist at Morrow, added: “We are very happy for the hundreds of people that stopped by our stand during the conference, leading to lots of new connections and fruitful discussions. Walking the talk on sustainable batteries🔋 Battery big thinkers Stina Torjesen from Morrow and Ellen Carey of Circulor recently sat down to iron out the many facets the Battery Passport - one of Europe’s pioneering digital product passport mechanisms. “By 2035 the battery passport will, along side other measures, have contributed to a normative change were consumers and companies can expect easy access to information on environmental performance (such as CO2 footprint) and on the upholding of high labour and human rights in the supply chain - while the conveying of in-depth information by suppliers has become commonplace, says Stina Torjesen, VP Sustainability of Morrow. Happy Factory Friday! Our friends at MediaService stopped by the factory site the other day to capture the Morrow Cell Factory in sunny autumn weather... It's been four weeks since the inauguration, and the manufacturing team is busy fine-tuning equipment and processes through intense test production cycles. For every work week that passes, we get one step closer to commercial LFP production later this year. Thank you to everyone working hard to make Morrow ready to deliver LFP battery cells to the European market. Have a well-deserved weekend when that time comes!
