Nordic Semiconductor is a Norwegian fabless semiconductor company specializing in wireless communication technology that powers the Internet of Things (IoT). Nordic was established in 1983 and has more than 1465 employees across the globe. Our award-winning Bluetooth Low Energy solutions pioneered ultra-low power wireless, making us the global market leader. Our technology range was later supplemented by ANT+, Thread and Zigbee, and in 2018 we launched our low power, compact LTE-M/NB-IoT cellular IoT solutions to extend the penetration of the IoT.     Earlier this week, Ole-Fredrik Morken, EVP Supply Chain, joined industry leaders at the groundbreaking launch of TSMC’s first European semiconductor fab in Dresden, Germany. This new fab will play a critical role in strengthening the resilience and localization of Europe's semiconductor supply chain, marking a significant milestone for the European semiconductor ecosystem. “I was truly honored and elated to be invited to the groundbreaking launch of TSMC’s first fab in Europe.     For all interested in DECT NR+, we invite you to join our webinar "Getting started with NR+ PHY" on August 28th.   The DECT NR+ standard is steadily maturing, and with the release of nRF Connect SDK v2.7.0, we introduced the DECT NR+ PHY API as experimental.   In this webinar, you will learn how to get started with the NR+ PHY. We will start with an overview of the DECT NR+ standard before moving on to what we are currently offering on the software and hardware sides. Lastly, there will be a live demo showing how to program your devices for NR+ and use the Hello NR+ sample in the nRF Connect SDK to send NR+ packets between two devices.     Over a year has passed since we launched our first Wi-Fi product, the nRF7002 Wi-Fi 6 companion IC. Finn Boetius reflects on what we have accomplished and summarizes it in this video.   We have been at the forefront of low-power wireless connectivity solutions, and our entry into the Wi-Fi market with the nRF7002 has been a significant milestone.     We have extended our support of and commitment to the smart agriculture sector by joining Internet of Things for Precision Agriculture (IoT4Ag). Their mission is to create and implement IoT technologies for precision agriculture that can address the global challenges of food, energy, and water security. We will join IoT4Ag's Industrial Practitioner Advisory Board (IPAB) to engage with its leadership team and provide strategic guidance on the organization’s goal of developing and deploying precision agriculture technologies. “IoT4Ag has been very effective at driving the implementation of IoT technologies that deliver efficient and long term practical solutions for the agriculture sector."
