NG Group is supporting and donating to NRK TV-aksjonen (NRK telethon), the largest information campaign and fundraising event in Norway. This year’s telethon will raise funds for Barnekreftforeningen (the Norwegian Childhood Cancer Society).   In Norway, a child is diagnosed with cancer every other day, and ten children are born with heart defects each week. When a child becomes seriously ill, the entire family is affected. Barnekreftforeningen plans to use the funds to establish family housing near the university hospitals in Tromsø, Trondheim, Bergen, and Oslo. These homes will allow seriously ill children to stay with their families throughout their treatment.   We encourage everyone that has the opportunity to donate and support the fundraising!

He says: At REEN, we work every day with expertise and technology that provide the valuable insights needed to transform how waste management companies collect, transport, and distribute their waste. Today, REEN stands as a unique advanced supplier of groundbreaking cloud tools and sensors. As we continue to grow and develop our technology, we hope to set the stage for a new era of cross-industry collaboration and innovation in the waste management industry. I am the Director of Sales here and have an amazing team of 10 skilled professionals based in Norway, Sweden, and the UK. We work very closely together every day to provide our customers with a better workday, higher fleet utilization of their equipment, more profitable resource collection, and quality data that will help them meet future demands. For me, being a pioneer means being the one who brings people together for good cross-functional collaboration across the industry. Alone you are weak, together we are strong. This is something I go to work every day to achieve because I believe we need to dare to collaborate much more across the board, share data, and look forward. I think those who don’t want to collaborate or share data will end up alone in the end because our customers are completely dependent on strong collaborations across sectors to reach the 2030 goals together. The Pioneering Award is an internal award that goes out to those who embody our vision: pioneering circularity. We look for pioneering work, and each quarter we present the award to a group of forward-thinking pioneers in our group♻️ It is with joy that we select the Marketing Group at NG Downstream, which has entered into a strategic collaboration with the transport company Frode Laursen to increase the use of fossil-free long-distance transport. From January 2025, NG Downstream will have access to 15 loads per week with fossil-free transport from Eastern Norway to Sweden. The capacity will be available to NG, and it will also be used for tender tonnage. Fossil-free long-distance transport is not widely available as it involves higher logistical costs, and the infrastructure is not yet well developed. By entering into a strategic collaboration with a transporter that is committed to this initiative, and where NG Downstream guarantees the use of the capacity, this is made possible, allowing us to contribute to reducing emissions from long-distance transport. #pioneeringcircularity

We are pioneers. Our vision is «pioneering circularity» - but what is a pioneer? Meet on of our pioneers, Oda Emilie Solbakken Rosvoll in NG Group. She says: Understanding the environmental challenges our society faces and how we impact the world around us is essential for creating a more sustainable future. At NG Group, I have the opportunity to work with these issues as a Climate and Nature Analyst in the Sustainability Team. My main areas of focus are life cycle analysis (LCA) and greenhouse gas accounting, where I contribute to improving our understanding of climate change and NG Group's influence across the value chain. For me, beeing a pioner is setting ambitious goals towards a more sustainable and circular transition, while beeing transparent on the challenges and barriers we face while working towards the goals. #pioneeringcircularity

October 10th is #WorldMentalHealthDay, and this year's theme is that we need to talk more with each other by #give8minutes. It’s essential to our we-culture that we take care of each other, and research shows that just 8 minutes on the phone with someone you care about can have a significant impact on both the relationship and mental health.   We have encouraged our employees to #give8minutes and set aside time each day next week to reach out to someone, whether it’s family, friends, or colleagues. Time is our most vulnerable resource, and in the spirit of our value, CARING, we want everyone to use a little of their time for this.   We will also make relevant information available in our internal channels, which can make a difference for someone struggling or help raise awareness that those around you may be going through tough times without you knowing it.   We need to talk more - let’s all contribute to making it happen! We are pioneers. Our vision is «pioneering circularity» - but what is a pioneer? Meet one of our pioneers, Martin Holm, R&D Manager in Letbek A/S, part of NG Group. He says: I’m R&D manager at Letbek, and I’m responsible for development of ex/internal and products across our broad range of capability, counting plastic injection molding and extrusion, as well as PUR molding furniture. I am a creator at heart, and I finds the most joy in development projects together with clients that shares our vison in creating sustainable solutions. When we are invited into the early stage of the design process, this is where we can do the biggest impact in making quality products in the most sustainable way. We are truly pioneers when we can use all our knowledge in this early phase. We have some unique tools that allow us to test recycled material that gives us a complete spec sheet, which can be directly loaded into our CAD software – this allows us to test the products inside the 3D software with the given recycled materials. This makes a huge difference that we can adjust ad re-design the part according to the material, and it also gives our clients the necessary trust in choosing recycled materials over virgin materials. #pioneeringcircularity

Securing validation from the SBTi is a key milestone for NG Group. NG Group has approved near and long-term company-wide emission reduction targets in line with climate science with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and reaffirmed its commitment to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2050. #pioneeringcircularity

We believe that collaboration is essential for succeeding in the transition to a circular economy, including with policymakers. Thank you to Henrik Asheim, Deputy Leader of the Conservative Party in Norway (Høyre) and Political Advisor Per Søreide Senstad for visiting our facility in Oslo to learn more about our solutions and discuss what it will take to succeed. We are pioneers. Our vision is «pioneering circularity» - but what is a pioneer? Meet one of our pioneers, Ramon Nunez Hidalgo, operator hazardous waste in Norsk Gjenvinning, part of NG Group. He says: I am responsible for handling hazardous waste from businesses, where I oversee deviations, sort the materials, and store them in the warehouse before further dispatch. As a hazardous waste operator, accuracy and organization are crucial, which is why I developed an app that digitalizes the process of registering and organizing all declarations from our customers. This app allows for detailed reporting, saving time and money for both us and the companies we work with. It reduces paper use, provides better oversight, and enables us to reuse packaging, which is also environmentally friendly. Additionally, I have created an app for managing PCB windows. This app helps me to inspect and sort the windows, as well as generate lists that are forwarded to recipients. By digitalizing this work, we save both time and resources while also creating a more environmentally friendly process. To me, being a pioneer means leading the way, exploring new methods, and taking initiative to develop solutions that enhance both workflow and the environment. I believe in innovation as a driver for sustainable improvements, and this influences my work every day. #pioneeringcircularity
