"Romania has one of the largest populations of stray dogs in Europe, with estimates ranging from 500,000 to 1,000,000. This is a major animal welfare issue.’’ The scale of this issue is overwhelming, yet it often goes unnoticed or ignored. This is a major animal welfare crisis—one that demands urgent action. Stray dogs face hunger, disease, abuse, and harsh weather conditions daily. Overpopulation also leads to conflicts with communities, making it essential to find humane, effective solutions. At ROLDA, we are committed to tackling this crisis through rescue, rehabilitation, and responsible rehoming. How life has changed for our little Filby! 🥰 Just a few months ago, Filby was found on the streets as a stray kitten, suffering from a severely injured eye. Without intervention, his condition would have only worsened, but ROLDA stepped in to give him a second chance. Our team provided him with immediate medical attention, ensuring he received the best possible treatment to heal completely. 😻 Now, Filby is living his best life with his sister Blossom and their foster siblings, who make sure he is very well taken care of. We are thrilled to share that Filby has made a remarkable recovery! Thanks to ROLDA’s dedicated efforts, his eye is back to normal, and he's now a picture of health. As part of our commitment to giving rescued animals a healthy start, we also ensured that both Filby and Blossom received their first vaccines. Seeing these two thrive in foster care brings us so much joy, and we are incredibly proud that our intervention has restored Filby’s health and given him a new beginning.
