Enzymes are becoming increasingly important in industrial processes and the transition to a bio-based economy. Want to learn more about all the possibilities of enzymes? Join the open webinar hosted by the SFI Centre for Industrial Biotechnology.
Did you know that enzymes are essential for the green shift, enhancing sustainability and promoting circular industrial practices across various sectors? SFI Industrial Biotechnology invites to an open webinar, September 27th, 08:30-10:30, where several of our partners, both from academia and industry, will talk about the different aspects of industrial enzymes, their importance for industrial processes and for the society. We will hear Prof. Vincent Eijsink (NMBU - Norwegian University of Life Sciences) hosting the webinar and talk about enzyme development in general and the enzymatic valorisation of lignocellulosic material. Prof. Finn Lillelund Aachmann (Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)) will present the enzyme class of epimerases and their involvement in industrial processing of alginate from seaweed, while Dr. Gro Bjerga (NORCE Norwegian Research Centre) will talk about novel enzyme strategies for marine by-product refineries. Dr. Lilly Amore, Head of Technology Development at Biocatalysts Ltd, will discuss the process of bringing promising enzymes to the market. Finally, Olav Lanes, VP R&D and Applications from ArcticZymes Technologies ASA, will talk about how enzymes from the cold environments can solve challenges in molecular processes and examples and requirements for enzymes entering such markets.
