New year, new projects! Today we had the preparatory meeting for the KoM of the project FORESi that will take place at the end of January. This IA, funded by the #HorizonEurope, started on 1.Jan.2024 and will last for 36 months. FORESi aims at FOstering a Recycled European #Silicon supply through the first worldwide industrial demonstration of a cradle-to-cradle Silicon value chain. To contribute to a sustainable energy sovereignty for Europe, FORESi will demonstrate a circular recycling process from end-of-life #PVpanels towards new #photovoltaics and #EVbatteries applications. The project will demonstrate the technical, economic and environmental viability of the entire recycling process, and deliver the design of an optimised recycling #turnkeyfactory of end-of-life PV panels, paving the way for a European industrial mass production of recycled Silicon. FORESi will also develop an online integrated platform for recovery of PV panels, and deliver a #PVTestingMethodology to #ReuseandRepair #EoLPVmodules. The consortium includes 11 entities from 7 countries, including six industries and SMEs, four industry-driven clusters, non profit and research centers and one university. Welcome to the STREAMS Project 🔋 🌱 Sustainable Technologies for Reducing Europe’s bAttery raw MaterialS⚡ 🚀 Funded by the Horizon Europe Programme, STREAMS Project is set to redefine Europe's position in the battery manufacturing landscape. This pioneering endeavor aims to strengthen the domestic battery materials supply chain, reduce Europe's dependency on imported raw materials, and elevate its resilience, competitiveness, and strategic autonomy on the global #battery manufacturing industry. 💪 Led by the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, we constitute a robust and assured consortium comprising 15 European partners spanning 10 countries, along with 4 associated partners from non-EU countries. We will develop scalable and flexible technologies for the sustainable production of battery precursors, anodes, and cathodes. 📢 𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟭 Highlights: STREAMS Partners - Pitches and Speed dating 🧠 This was time to get to know the brains and operations behind this project - all  STREAMS partners introduced themselves, through short pitches, and explained their collaboration and involvement in this amazing initiative. 🌍 The STREAMS project consortium is made up of 19 partners, each with their own specialization in different areas. Divided into 8 work packages (WP), during the first day the activities that is being planned in the following have been discussed: WP1: Coordination, Natalie Bruckmüller and Damian Cupid, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology WP2: Resources pre-processing and characterisation, ETİ GÜBRE WP3: Production processes of lithium precursors, Ulla Lassi, University of Oulu WP4: Production processes of transition metals precursors and battery active materials, Abdelfattah Mahmoud, University of Liège WP5: Production processes of graphite and silicon precursors, NanoPow AS 💡  Then, we got into speed-dating! Partners were divided into groups, creating a dynamic atmosphere for collaborative talks. Each group explored synergies, harmonising skills and expertise in exchange of ideas. This fast-paced dialogue promised not only connection but the fusion of talents that will resonate throughout the STREAMS Project . 👋 With this first day of the launch of the STREAMS project, we saw the commitment of all partners to collaborate, innovate, and drive forward the goals of the project. It will set the stage for productive discussions, knowledge exchange, and the establishment of a strong foundation for the next three years.
